So I got a $124 ticket yesterday. Improper lane usage, not a speeding ticket, IMPROPER LANE USAGE. Fucking hole in the road on the railroad tracks that I've always gone around. I think I moved maybe 1-2 ft into the other lane. Didn't even know there was a cop behind me (he was back a few cars). I didn't even realize it was that big of a deal in the first place.

Should I fight it? Is it worth it? I was polite to the officer. I didn't believe I was doing anything unsafe, it's not like I was swerving into traffic.

If I do lose and it ends up on my insurance is it going to hurt me?

Whatever though, fuck pigs.

Show up to court. If that little dip can damage your car, it's just like your just avoiding something potentially dangerous. Worst they can say is you still have to pay it.

If your dead set that you didn't do anything wrong, I'd take pics of the portion of the road and you will have to defend the fact that that was your only way to avoid accident. Also take pictures of your tires if you have rims and low pros showing that they could be damaged if you hit it the wrong way. The worst that can happen is you will have to pay the ticket, and your insurance probably won't go up.

I got pulled over June 1 of last year on my way to an inspection place for out of date inspection. I showed up with a receipt for the inspection and it was timed an hour after I got the ticket. I still lost and had to pay the ticket.

My cousin got pulled over for aftermarket headlights. The cop said the weren't DOT approved even though they say DOT approved on the outer casing . The cop argued that since the label was over the headlight and not the turn signal they still weren't DOT approved for the turn signal, EVEN THOUGH THEY WERE ONE PIECE HEADLIGHTS. He still lost and hod to pay the fine.

Moral- cops are assholes and you will most likely have to pay the ticket. Is it really worth it to defend your point to the point where you and everyone else knows you did the right thing, and then have the system just deny everything you say just to get your money.

Subpeona the officer.

def. plead not guilty...if it is something you always avoid, then theres obviously a valid reason..
but cops are dicks.,,always start off nice with them, until they keep up with the i own the badge attitude,,then give em hell,

He might not even show up in which case it might get thrown out.

sounds like failure to drive right (not correct.... right of the yellow line).

if you can afford a day off from work with potential to have to pay the same thing + bailf/court fees, fight it. otherwise, pay it.

Ha, I got a ticket for my exhaust being too loud, all the cops in my area know me and dont give me shit about anything usaully atleast. And I didnt have my insurance card with me so he was being a complete ass about it. So I told him to look it up, because they have done it for me before and it wasnt a big deal. Anyways long story short he writes me a ticket for my exhaust and no proof of insurance, and I cant just pay the tickect at the station, I go to court with my proof of insurance and the judge laughed cause the cop was such a goone. The ticket was $10 and court cost was $120.

/rant

But just pay the ticket, it'll be more trouble than its worth to try and fight it.

I read the thread and thought it was about injen and bryan

Haha no, I'm straight like a gate :p

So wait, let me get this straight, if I fight the ticket, I have to pay court fees regardless of whether I win or lose?

^ Yep, IMO just pay the ticket. Its gonna be a pain to fight it and more than likely cost you more to fight it, just sell some crack or something to make the $125 if you dont have it.

:withstupid:

IMO, it's FAR easier to just pay the 100 bucks then to
a) take a day off from work (and if i was paid hourly, i'd actually lose money on this)
b) end up paying it anyway + court fees + dealing with a judge + sitting there waiting for hours until your case is called

that's worth 100 bucks to me.

I generally just pay anything under 350. its easier

Same here, unless it's something I'm really set on winning, like if a neighbor brought something upon me, yea I'm bringing that shit to the grave if I have to.... but I hate my neighbors.

Just slow down real slow at that dip and next time the officer is behind you maybe he will get a bit aggrivated and wish he hadnt given you a ticket before...
