so i've done some research, and my d16 isnt really appealing to me at all. i want to do a swap but i really want an ls swap. although i love v-tec. the solution do an ls vtec swap. but i read that they arent worth it because yo cant really rev them higher than 6750 or something along those lines. i'm just wondering if it'd be worth it or not. and also if i build the head would it allow me to rev higher if i had a stock bottom end?
thanks

IMO if I was gonna put up the cash and time to build a non-vtec engine into a vtec engine I'd use the b20 block over the b18 for the extra displacement.

i was thinking about building my d series and running turbo. but i've heard that would be bad to do if it wasnt a track car. i just want a quick little civvy to drive around. this pull a part place where i'd get a block sells motors for 125 flat. like 55 or something for a head. what do u think would be my best bet? d series keep the sohc or go b

Budget boost the D and youll smoke B-seires cars all day long.

Nothing wrong with a Turbo D-series, good bang for the buck.

i've got 63 thousan on my motor. what should i build to turbo it without blowing it. i'm for sure doing the head. anything in the bottom end?

Go to the Forced Induction or Engine building forums and search first then ask questions. Blanco would be a good guy to talk to, but there are others.

That being said if it was me I'd build the bottom end (turbo pistons and rods), but it all depends on how much power your aiming for.

Good luck.

do you really mean 63,000 or 6,300? If you got 63,000 throw your honda away and go get something nicer.

125 flat huh? Boosted LS/V with a homemade turbo setup FTW. More displacement and boost.

yeah i was trying to find an si del sol to get a b16a out of. but they didnt have anything near that. their trannies are like 43 bucks too. no matter what car it's from. same with 4 cylinders they're always 105 and some change out the door, if they're from a chevy beretta or a bmw. place is kinda nice.
and yeah.

Gotcha lol... His wording, to me, throughout the thread has been so fucked up I thought 'on the motor' meant 'for the motor' lol...

my apollogies about that than.it sounds good when i'm thinking about what to type. than after i realize i just put down a bunch of random words. hah. thanks for all the help though. i've gotta order exhaust and srpings first than it's either a new d series motor to use in my car while i build mine, or an l/s block. the l/s would be more convinent though. wouldnt waste as much money on another engine cuz i have no other car to drive and i work 3 jobs so i need to get around some how.
