i have a 91 civic dx with a b18a1 from a 93 acura integra ls. its already wired to obd1 and i'm using a 92 obd1 pr4 ecu, to say the truth, i don't even know if its obd1 ecu or if the shop that did the wiring didn't even convert the thing and its still obd0, is there an obd1 pr4? the engine burns oil and i now have to change it. i'm gonna install a 96+ integra b18b ls engine.

my question is if i can use the manifold i already have, the 93 integra ls manifold on the 96+ b18b? and can i use the ecu i have?

do i have to do any more wiring changes or can i just bolt the engine in with no further modifications?

thanks

if its already converted to obd1 then you can use the existing pr4 ecu..and yes the obd1 mani will work..
the only real diff between obd0 and obd1 is the alternator,o2 sensors and dizzy

but rebuild the b18a for a spare,or even a built motor

do i have to change the alternator, o2 and dizzy from the engine i already have to the b18b? also, i have a state ref sticker already for here on california so my car is street legal. will i remaine the same with the b18b swap or do i have to convert it to obd2 to stay legal, thanks.

i just found out there is a obd1 pr4. the engine i have was already rebuilt once and i think they didn't resleeve it or install things perfectly, i only put 6k miles on it and the engine went bad. i'm only going from the b18a i have to the b18b becouse it makes more torque and a bit more hp, i hope i can feel the difference. the engine will be mounted the b16 cable transmission i already have, the only thing that sucks though is that it only goes around 110-115 mph, i really havent noticed but it goes through the gears fast.

no you dont have to switch all that stuff..unless it isnt on the b18b//
the b16 trannies are geared really short, thus being the reason for such a low tops speed..you should swap in an ls 5th gear for highway driving
if the rings are already bad after 6k then i am going to have to say it wasnt broken in correctly or it wasnt honed before installing everything

the b18b is obd2?? then it wont work unless you change all the stuff i mentioned before,,sorry you confused me,,and no i dont think it will work

it turns out when you use the obd2 engine, i will have to also use the obd2 ecu and wiring crap to stay legal. i'll just get a 94-95 b18b obd1. it will still make more torque, 127 torque compared to the 117 the 92-93 b18a1 has

Depends on where you live. Over here, for a car older than 95, they don't even look at the wiring or engine. They just look for the emissions equipment.

they only care if your car is a 94 and motor is anything before that. other than that if it has a CEL refferee wont trip on you.
