:confused:I have a 1992 Honda Prelude. I seem to have a major problem that almost killed me last night. My car is not throwing any 4WS code, no light or nothing but I can assure you this something is messed up. At high speeds its even worse but even low speeds its like my rear tires are on oil, im squirming all over the road even worse If i hit a bump. Scary, last night it made me swerve towards a transport. I pulled the 4ws fuse and still it is like this. I have one bald tire on the front right but it shouldnt affect it like this at all. Please help. I tried looking for the 4ws ecu behind the seat drivers side and I cant find anything. Any suggestions?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

in the trunk on the back of the seat drivers side. it should have a fail safe that locks the rear wheels if there is a problem. I would check mechanical also.

I paid $925 , I drove it and couldnt tell at low speeds ie- around the block. Does anyone have a picture of what I should be looking for in the back seat/trunk. there is signs that someone has ripped something off the seat there, no computer, no box, nothing. I simply want my rear steering to be locked 24/7 i hate it.

I can post something up but not till thursday. buy a haynes or chiltons. basically you remove the carpet off the back of the back seat (from the trunk) you wont be able to miss it.

I pulled all the carpet out of the trunk, the only thing that is there is the back of the seat, looks like someone took a cover off and now its just foam. Theres no ecu,, no box, no nothing very strange....do all 92 preludes sr in canada have 4ws?
I pulled the fuse panel cover and it shows a 10A fuse for 4ws but Once again i cant find the fuse according to the diagram unless its one of those big square fuses. I thought it might be that so i pulled that. still rear wheel all over the place.:confused::confused::confused:

prolly not 4ws you would see something there if it was even if the unit was removed there's a cradle(bracket) and 4 or 5 wires and 2 plugs

btw the 4ws light should come on when starting the vehicle then shut off. run the vin on a decoder there are a ton of them free on the net

Did you check to make sure everything was tight before you started looking at electrical problems? Is the alignment out of whack?

check the fluid level in the transfer case, I had a simalar problem with my 95 eclipse gsx. either the fluid is low or the transfer case is going bad.

also this isnt something you want to let go, if the transfer case goes out it will cause your back wheels to lock up and if your doing 70 on the highway all you can do is pray
