The wifey and I have had offers for her single cam Saturn b/c of the insane gas mileage it gets. These times, they are a changin'. The days of oversized trucks and SUVs are gone, and it's about goddamn time!

they are not quite gone yet.... they are going away though :) ... i will be happier than a retard with a fresh box of crayolas when the day of the huge ass SUVs and trucks are over
now if only we could get the fucking DOT to start letting in the small efficient fun to drive cars that are available over seas... that standard crayola 8 pack might just turn into a 64 pack :D

ATM you can't even trade in an SUV or big truck to a dealer around here. They already have too many.

Although that allowed my friend to pick up a brand new Dodge Rumble Bee for under WAY under MSRP. He gets about 9 mpg. But he's so big (D1 defensive linemen) he wouldn't even fit in a CRX.

Gas is gonna be 5 bucks by when? People are having an impossible time affording these beasts they've bought. Worse, they can't even get a fraction of the KBB price for them because... nobody wants a gas guzzler!

This is a problem that will take care of itself. It's not like they weren't warned.

Damn that thing is clean!!!

My HF looks like shit but it runs perrrrrrfect, and still gets around 45mpg's. And prices are still hurting me, but there are others(SUV and truck drivers) in more of a bind so im not complaining.

I think it'll hit $5 around the middle of july, at the rate were headed.

my 87 is an si....
si's have been out since 1985

duh, wrong gen.

i'm pretty sure the ED/EF chassis did not have an si trim level in 1988.. it debuted in 89? i could be wrong though.

Since a bike is my primary form of transport, I'm going to pick up a beast this year at a severely discounted price.

I hope to only be "behind the wheel" when the wipers are on, if you catch my drift.

looks like it was just the hatchback that didn't have an SI version in 88

One model departed (the Civic Si hatchback), as a new one, the Civic LX sedan, was introduced. The LX loaded up a Civic sedan with features such as power windows, locks and mirrors; a tachometer; and intermittent wipers. U.S. production for the Civic began this year in Ohio, making it easier for Honda to satisfy America's appetite for its gem of a small car.

The Civic Si hatchback returned for 1989, now with a power moonroof and once again with the same potent engine (increased to 108 horsepower for this year) installed in the CRX Si and the 4WD wagon.
