External coil on a JDM H22?

Almost finished swapping a JDM H22 into a 95 Accord, but have run into a couple of questions... The stock F22 has an external coil while the JDM H22 has an internal. I have a JDM P13 ECU. My question is, how do I wire this up? The plugs on the the JDM distributor match up to the Accord's harness, but will the car start? Do I have to get the USDM Prelude distributor and run the Accords external coil? Will the JDM ECU still run the USDM dizzy and ext. coil?

Also, there are two coolant passages located on the JDM tranny, that the USDM Accord tranny did not have. What do I do with them? Do I loop them to each other or do I have to "T" off of the coolant lines from the throttle body/head?

Anyone that can help me out would be greatly appriciated! Thanks in advance!

The coils work the same; shouldn't matter.

You sure? I know a friend of mine had an Accord with a JDM H22, but had a USDM P13. The shop told him he needed to buy a USDM dizzy because the UDSM P13 wouldn't run the JDM dizzy and internal coil... This shops information is what I am basing this whole discussion on...

The coils are both hooked up to the ICM(which is inside both distributors), they work the same.

Then what about the extra plug on the Accord harness for the external coil? Do I just leave it hanging there? It's gotta go to something, right?

You could swap an external distributor there use an external coil, or use the internal coil distributor and just cut and solder the yellow and yellow/black wire together.

What do I do with the other wire on the plug? I don't remember which color it is, cuzz I'm at work right now, but the plug has two wires.

i did this on my prelude...there is a write up here from when i first started in the honda world.

Found the answer:

on the coil plug there is a thick yellow wire...you can either cut that wire or use a spade connector and tap the top of that plug to splice it into the yellow and black wire (on the 2 wire plug) on the internal dizzy. Thats all you mess with.

And the other two wires, the yel/blk and grn, I think. They don't get hooked up to anything?

Alright, I looped it back like you said (the yellow wire to the black/yellow). The engine just cranks. Gets fuel, but no spark. I double checked the firing order, but when I crank it and put the spark plug wire on a ground, I get no spark. Please help! I'm soooo close

well if i still had my prelude id take a picture of it for you.

I just know that i took the yellow wire from the coil connector and spliced it straight into the yellow and black distributor connector and my car came to life.

is the distributor known to be good.

I'm stumped. I got it to crank, even sputter a time or two, but that's it. Do you have a link to that write up you did, or a link to an Accord wiring diagram? Im at work, or I'd just look at my manual.

tab, one of the other mods here, told me about it.

check this out though...this is everything youll need for this swap.

you might just want to check and make sure that wire is actually getting power whenever you crank the car...if so, you might need a new igniter. I think you can take the one out of an F22 distributor and use it in the H22. Im not 100% POSITIVE on that, but im pretty sure that it can be done.

Okay, I'm gonna try it, but I'm pretty sure I did this last night. I'll let you know what happens... Thanks for all the help so far.

Well, tried that. Still didn't start. Replaced the rotor and ignitor from the F22 dizzy also. Still doesn't start. I used a multimeter, and I'm getting power all the way up to the ignitor. Still no spark. Please help! Please!
