1990-crxsir

New Member
k, 1st off, im new so hi everyone, b easy on me.
im new to this import world but i have a really sweet crx that is done up 100%.

my thought is i would like more power but my mechanic at Honda who built my car says " for what i have , your motor and tranny is done to the max, ". the mechanic says the only other power add ons i could do to get more power is to go to a turbo or supercharger. im wondering if he is true or not.

my motor is a 1990-1993 / B18 block and a 1999 / B16 head , both from a INTEGRA TYPE R same with tranny.

( MY MOTOR IS SETUP FOR NITROUS,i dont like nitrous personally and am selling my nitrous and purge system )

ideas of what i could do to get more power would be nice before i turbo or supercharge my motor.

thanks.

would you mind telling me the motor code???
and there was not a single ITR that came with a b16
also there wasnot an ITR in 90-93.
also ITR trannies dont come cable
also what setup is in this "ITR" motor???
sounsds to me like you have no clue about anything honda and someone too some serious advantage of that

k what i was told is the block is a 90-93' -b18a1 and the head is from a type r integra and its a 99' -b16, also my tranny is a crx tranny with a dual centerforce clutch and lightweight flywheel.

i was wrong and phoned my mechanic. this is what i was told. apologies.
and yes i am new to this import world but i really love my car.

ok so the block is from a basemodel integra-its an ls bottom end..
the integras never had b16 so the head cant ber from an ITR-sounds to me like its from an si civic..or MAYBE civic type r
so you have an ls/vtec setup..and the tranny is a b16 tranny from the si-r crx...
its a good setup you have here.

so what pistons/rods are in the motor???
what cams/springs/valves does it have??

Integra XSi's had b16's from 90-93, if its from an integra its a first gen. 99' its from a civic si.

all i know from what i see under the hood is allot of stuff from AEM and DC SPORTS , , K&N , MSD, NGK, VENOM, ( i also have it set-up for nitrous, plus purge)

thats just what i see when i pop open my hood.
i was told from my mechanic that the previous owner sunk $ 25,000 into building the CRX. and i will ask my mechanic 2morro what the internals r? i willl let you know.

i did not mean to put b16 after 99 integra type r head . IT IS a 99 head from a type r integra. on a b18a1 block.

Engine bay pictures would be helpful too...

Youve got an LSVtec, most likely its all ODB0 parts, meaning B18A1 bottom end from an OBD0 Intgera LS, an OBD0 B16 head from the Integra XSi, or the CRX Sir, and a cable tranny from any of these cars. Thats if it is all OBD0, and Im assuming it is. Does your tech know the guy who had the car before you, if not he wont be able to tell what is inside just by looking at it. And if the guy before you really put $25K in it, which I doubt, and it isnt turboed or supercharged already, its an all motor setup. So just leave it alone and if you want some more ponies put the nitrous on it and call it a day.

If this motor truly is set up for N/A, then it would probably need rebuilt to safely run a turbo or supercharger on it. The compression ratio is probably pretty high. You want lower compression for boost.

Ask your mechanic what the internals are...

thanks guys , what i might do in the future is sell what i have, and buy a s2000. but i will find out what my internals are for ya.

thanks again

^I second that

But an LS/Vtec set-up is very potent. Much power can be made from this set-up depending on the parts and tune.

My best opinion is to keep your set-up as it is and just go ahead and throw your nitrous kit on. Although I do question the want to have more power, because an LS/Vtec puts down some good times and numbers.

But to each his own.

i have power but mabey im not used to driving a different car then a 8 cyl. thnks guys.
Then drop a small block in that sum bitch!

And stop BS'ing, $25K LS/Vtec aaaaaahahahahahahahaha. IF yes IF you do have one that was built to hell and back. You wouldnt be up on here asking these types of questions. That thing would fly like a bat out of hell!!!

k, first off i dont bullsh8t, there is $25,000 into the whole car, from motor to drive train, to wheels, rims to exhaust , to interior. and yes there is a 99 type r head from an integra in my car and i do have a b18a1 block. my head is a jdm head.
i just wabnted to know how to go from 180 hp to 400 without using nos. and what i would have to do to achieve that

:bs:If the car really has $25k in it it should be making more than stock HP, I would hope like 250 on that kind of budget.

something is NOT adding up here..
the car has 25k into it..but its not quick?
lets run a price check.and these prices are average
Exhaust-500
Header-300
bottom end-400
jdm head-400
shell-1-3grand
tranny-4-500
clutch/flywheel/pplate-2-300?
suspension-1100(thats tein)
interior-5-600?
wheels/tires-no more than 1500(talkin some slips with the crazy ass stickies)
where the hell could the rest go without alot of good parts in that motor?and no power???

. Then you'll need to make sure that whatever brake and suspension mods you have are real and not rice.
meaning you need to get reputable shit..like tein,kyb,brembo,wilwood..
not just street stuff, but track as well
