Meet "Copper"!

My new puppy. AKC registered beagle, drove 400 miles to pick him up. 3 weeks of searching more than 1500 beagles and this is the critter that I brought home. Thought I'd brag a little.

Congrats man, good looking pup. I have a 5 mo. old Jack Russell. Puppies are a ton of work. Invest in a lot of stuff he can chew on.

I considered a jack russel, but they are a bit high-strung. Very intelligent dogs, though.. some of the best "trick" dog's I've seen.

The beagle won out though, I wanted a small dog, but not too small.. I've always been a fan of big dogs, but taking them to family outings, gatherings, etc is hard. I needed a portable dog.

My other dog is a Dalmation named "Chief". Best dog you could ever ask for. Listens and follows commands, doesn't do anything that he isn't supposed to, just a wonderful animal to be around. Only problem is he doesn't understand that he is a big dog, so he'll knock kids over.. which is bad with all the kiddos hanging around at BBQs, etc..75 pound dalmation.. They're only supposed to be 55 pounds, but he's a big guy.

Oh, and if you ask him to "smile" he will!

Are his eyes really blue or is it the camera flash? Never seen that in a Dalmation.
I too prefer large dogs, our previous pet was a 110 lb. Alaskan Malamute. Greatest dog ever. One of the worst days of my life when we put him down. Not ashamed to say I cried like a little girl. We live in a condo now and pets have to be under 50 lbs. She's actually not as hyper as I expected, and generally is happy to sit in your lap and take a nap.

 your cute beagle. hopefully not a big barker though. beagles are vocal, in my experience.

Cute begal. But I'm with dacheat. Beagles are great guard dogs.

My mom just got 2 pups. 3/4 English Mastiff 1/4 German Shepherd. They're huge.

Duke and Daisy they're named. 1 year old. Duke is a whopping 180lbs and up to my waist (i'm 6'1"). Daisy's a mere 160.

Chief's eyes are brown, that was just a camera flash. Beagle is quiet so far, until you put him into his crate at night. First night he cried all night long, a few days later he is perfectly fine with it. Keeps him out of trouble, keeps the house clean, and keeps chief from eating him.

meet Bailey :) she is a Rott mix. we got her at an animal shelter

AND BANDIT!! he is a LITTLE BITCH, but he is sweet to make up for it :) he is a pure Weiner dog. We are planning on breeding him.

I have a brown Miniature Dachshund and a German Shepard mix mutt. Both great dogs, had them around me since I was a real young'n. The mutt is probably hovering around 16 yrs old, he's in bad shape and really needs to be put down, my grandmother doesn't believe in euthanasia so I suffer watching him suffer. The Dachshund is about 12 years old IIRC.

I had a Dalmatian also, he was a great dog, overweight but a real good dog, he was deaf but he understood some hand commands, he died last year.

But your beagle is a beautiful little puppy, take care of him. If he isn't neutered, honestly, he is such a good looking dog I would suggest breeding him.

Cute dogs. The smile IS kinda creepy but I lol'd and said "how cute" when I saw it. I just wish they would stay puppies forever but be house broken at the same time.

Definitely a cute dog. I had a beagle that passed away two years ago. Greatest dog ever. Will love you till the end.

Cute dog man...

My little guy is weird looking--Basset/Weiner dog mix...He is lazy like me and doesn't use the energy to get into trouble...

I agree with whoever said it, but crate training FTW...I had to with my dog when I got him. I guess Basset's suffer from separation anxiety, so it would tear stuff up when he got lonely. Took all of a few weeks and he snapped out of it...
