ok i put a jdm b18c into the my 99 civic ex, when i take off i kinda hear my vtec kick in but it doesn't sound or feel like it should. Is this right or do i have a problem? Oh and i have been told on jdm engines you dont need the vtec oil pressure switch in order for the vtec to work. Is this true? cause i tested my switch and it has no 12v going to it ....even at the ecu. which is also a jdm p72.

How is vtec going to work with no power going to it? Not by magic, you need to wire that up fo it to work. And as far as the noise, that could be a million different things.

^^ Yeah and Vtec does not kick in right when you take off.

You need to wire up a RPM sensitive switch to activate Vtec. That sound you feel and hear might be your intake.

vtec solenoid has power to it and it kicks in...i was just asking since it wasn't that loud would there be a chance of it not engaging fully? I also know vtec don't kick in when you take off .....i meant when i punch it.

4500-4800 rpm which is where its suppose to kick in.

I really don't think you have a problem then my friend. If you hear it, you should be fine. From what I have learned, some tuned cars after they have been upgraded don't really have a VTEC "sound" to them if you will, but it's still there. ^_^
