i have a b16a in a 90 crx si. i have a edelbrock intake manifold, racing headers, intake, exaust. i want to build up the motor internals. where do you guys recommend i go? skunk 2? can someone help me with a parts list? thanks fellas

ok so im going to assume that you are building for n/a..
dont go with a brand name because youve heard alot about it,,
go with what is going to perform best for what your doing..
now if your doing a total build.
youll need
pistons,rods,
springs/ratainers/valves
aggressive cams,adjustable cam gears,
new bearings,seals,gaskets
and you will want to bring the block and head to a machine shop to be checked, cleaned and all that..

thanks man, i wanna build it up for more power and possibly a supercharger wheres the best place to shop? any help is greatly appreciated

eBay Store - Automotive Pro: Honda Acura, Pistons and Rings, Engine Rebuild Kits it an ebay store with good deals on decent parts for a Naturally aspirated motor (No turbo) you dont really hear to much of people using super chargers on hondas, superchargers are more for a high torque motor (v8's) They're belt driven usually theres some electric ones out there.. but thats all v8 anyhow.. Turbo's run on exaust pressure and have a spooling factor.. (Time / rpms you have to hit before your turbo's blowing hardest)

You should set your sights on a block right now .. before you take the car off the road, go ahead and goto a salvage yard and find you a B18 block! You'll spend more on a gsr block, but overall it's be about the same price in the long run.. The GSR Block (B18c1) has a bore/stroke ratio that would be very benificial to durability at high boost and rpm's! Again look to spend a good 10grand if you want to go all out and make it reliable with turbo

you can build the N/A route b18a or b block, with with the site I listed
eBay Store - Automotive Pro: Honda Acura, Pistons and Rings, Engine Rebuild Kits get no higher than an 11.5:1 C/r (Compression ratio) you'll need race fuel and forged pistons at least if you go higher than 11:5 ... the higher's not always the beter consider in cost. These kits are like $300.. Every gasket in the engine and head, All the bearings AND PISTONS w/ WRIST PINS! That more than pays for itself right there.. check them out.. b18a/b block b16a head Civic type r pistons = 11.5:1 on the nose, get a slightly thicker head gasket and you'll have a sweet N/A motor OH YEAH Make sure you also ATLEAST upgrade the blocks waterpump and oilpump to an integra type r or gsr vtec's (B18c1) use the GSR belt, and a LS Headgasket..

Once you have a block and start getting parts together ready to do, you'll need to read up on how to do the AN Fittings and Plugging the deck of the head where the oil's supposed to go. if you get a gsr block (B18c1) You'll have the Beefier bottom end also.. (Main Girdle) along with the Vtec sump pickup, windage, and oilpan "Wich you'll need to get for the LS block" Both B18a (LS) and b18c1 (GSR)'s need ARP stud/bolt upgrades to do this

Just an idea.. let that sink in read it over a few times then your gettin start and definatly spend spare time searching these forums.. one question leads to another question and all the answers are right here to search for.. This site's like the holy grail for anyone trying to do something with a honda I swear LOL
