it would cost a lot more, get a d16z6 and call it a day, it'll drop right in if i'm not mistaken, but let some of the other people on this site tell you more, i'm just learning too ;)

there is no motor out there that will drop right in to a 88 accord but one and thats a jdm b20a, all other motors other than the stock 86-89 accord and prelude sohc motors will take 100% custom work to make fit and work in the car.

^ Yep, IMO just drive the car as is, but if your dead set on doing a swap I would sell it and buy something more swappable.

NOTE; dont get the b20a confused with the pos b series that came in the usdm preludes the jdm only b20a was a perty good motor

My bad I know that one of them sucks, I thought the one you where talking about was it.

What the best swap for a 88 honda accord dx?

The best swap for an 88 Accord is to swap the entire car out for something that's more tuner-friendly (88-00 Civic, 90-01 Integra, 90-97 Accord, etc.)...

well how will a b20/b21 outa a prelude not bolt in when a jdm b20a will bolt right in a prelude just wanting to know where you are coming from

because in japon in the 3rd gen they came stock in them over there and its still a different motor than the one in the prelude
