Our governor recently purposed a ban on all agricultural field burning within the next 8 years. Local farmers (we're the grass seed capital of the world) burn their fields annually to get them ready for fall (I don't know why I'm not a farmer). So with this ban in place (at the cost of our agricultural economy) we should be good to go right?

Nope, California is yet ruining the pleasure of living in Oregon.

So I wrote my governor

Dear Ted,

I recently read you purpose to stop agricultural field burning by 2016, This is a simply fascinating way to lower greenhouse gases while negatively effecting local farmers. As a man who stands firmly with those would would sabotage our local community in the name of feel good legislature, I can tell you'll go far with the DNC!

I've been thinking recently, this smoke in the air from California's wildfires is really hurting our air. it should be sunny right now, but the smoke has ruined our day and harms our earth. Field burning bans will amount to NOTHING if we can't fix this.

With this in mind sir, it is time to seriously consider outlawing California. California is not only blatantly at fault for out of control real estate inflation, but now they ruin our environment with their wildfires that produce countless tons of C-O2.

I hope you will join me in the noble effort to save both our state, and our planet.

Sincerely Yours

A Concerned Voter

I would place bets that the reason is that the ash is good fertilizer and preps the soil (and gets rid of annoying weeds, ensuring only good grass grows, instead of dandilions and crabgrass, etc).

that's what I thought, but I recently burned a part of my yard which I planted a garden in and the weeds came right back so go figure.

And as for proof reading, it was better before I cut it down. Apparently the 1st amendment only protects the first 1,000 characters of your email. I just saw the "purpose" thing,DOUGH

truth be known I wish we could ban our fucking governor, he's a tard cart

Everything causes cancer in california!

Anywho, field burning is awesome for the land. Ever seen an area that had a forest fire 2 years later? Its 5x more green and lush than the areas that didn't burn.

It adds something to the soil.. carbon maybe?.. I dunno, but its good for the soil.

we're gunna protect this planet even if it kills it
Fire is illegal in California, and breathing is too (Too much carbon dioxide released)

California law makers pushed this when Reagan was president. Tried to call humans a pollutant.
