So I got a digital camera for Christmas. Open the box, broken LCD. Fuck. Best Buy has a policy to not replace broken LCDs, I have to go through Nikon. Fair enough. Send it to Nikon only to discover they also don't cover broken LCDs and I'll have to pay $90 to fix it. Fine, fix it and send it back to me in Glassboro. This was late February.

I have to move in the middle of April, so I'm on the phone with Nikon for an hour changing the return shipping address to another address in Glassboro. UPS claims to have attempted to deliver it multiple times and sends it back to Nikon.

I graduate and move back home middle of May to Hazlet. Another hour on the phone changing the address. They send it out again. And this time leave it on the door step. There is just one problem, they delivered it to the original address, in Glassboro, a house no one has lived in in over a month and a half (town took for redevelopment and kicked us out).

Not knowing any of this, I call in the middle of June wondering where the fuck my camera is. This guy gives me the story up to the point were it was sent back to Nikon. I give him my address again and he says it will be shipped right out. Remember, they now haven't even had the camera for about 3 weeks.

So I call again today, not knowing the situation still, and get my favorite line, "What's your service number? (I give it) I see here that your camera has been repaired and has been shipped back to you, will there be anything else today?" No douchebag, I was calling because I'm staring at the box and can't frigging figure out the packaging tape. WHY THE FUCK would I call if it had in fact been shipped to me and I have it? After an hour talking to different people and getting pissed off I finally get a semi-competent tech and he figures out the whole situation and says he will contact UPS, start an investigation, and get back to me in a day or so.

It is now July, this started in February when I received an already broken camera. I should have just went out and bought a new one.

FUCK. /rant. Off to the gym before I kill someone.
 
I'm really sorry to hear that man. Have you tried calling 1-888-PICK-UPS? They should be able to direct you to someone that will help you out with your claim. If that doesn't work, I will see what I can tonight at work and get you a number to help you out. Let me know.

P.S. Yes, I am an Under Paid Slave by the way...aka UPS Supervisor. :D

I have the original tracking number but that only says it was shipped back to Nikon. The last tech I talked to was actually really cool and I could hear it in his voice that he knew they had fucked up.

But the UPS guy should have also known, and probably did know, you don't leave a package on a doorstep in Glassboro. Had I even still lived at the address, if I hadn't saw it in the first half hour it would have walked off. Got to love having a college in a shit ass, should fall off the face of the earth town.
 
Sometimes they do leave packages at door steps. Tell you what, e-mail me your tracking number at BCD6YVQ@ups.com. I'll see what I can do for you. There's a guy at work that is the freakin' BOMB when it comes to finding out shit. Then there's me, who finds out shit and never tells people how he did it. :D

Thanks for the offer man, I repped you for it. But it actually got resolved already. The last guy I talked to actually called me back in a matter of maybe 2 hours and was cool as shit. Basically he said, he realizes that an investigation probably won't turn up jack and that I shouldn't have to wait around. Their going to send me a new one while the investigation goes on. Should ship out today.

So while Nikon sucked a big one at first, I will say that their customer service gets an A- in my book. And my only real problem with UPS is them leaving a package on the doorstep when the first 3 times someone was suppose to sign for it. But it was Nikon who gave them the wrong address in the first place.

I really think the only problem with Nikon is a lack of communication WITHIN the company. But return to your lives, all is well, haha.
 
Cool man. I'm glad you got your problem resolved. I kept on checking in on your post periodically and checked my e-mail a gazillion times to make sure I didn't miss your message if you had tried to get a hold of me.
