So my boyfriend told me now that i am on here i have to ask questions.. so i wanted to know which kinda of honda would be the best for me to get and build.. i was looking to get something newer like 99 or newer and i have been told a civic si is good but i want more input.. this would be my first honda so i want to make sure its a good one and all. and i dont want to get fucked over cause im a girl either.. so please let me know.. thank you;)

My cousin has had a 1999 civic si since it was brand new... It has been his daily driver since he purchased it. It has been a great car! Numerous upgrades inside and out can be made.. Great for a project and great as a daily driver... The sky is the limit.. The only downside to an SI in my opinion is the stock 5th gear.. 4k rpms at around 70 mph isn't the best on the interstate..

First off how much do you want to spend? What exactly do you want to do with the car? And do you have anything in particular in mind. Anything that is newer 95ish is going to be more expensive. IMO buy a cheap 88-91 hatch or CRX and swap it, but Im sort of biased on that one though.:D

whats your budget and power goal

I believe she wants a 4 door teg. Maybe this should be moved to the tech section so we can give her advice on wut she could do to it after she gets it.

i dont want to spend more then 7 grand. and i would like 4 doors and i dont like the del sols i like the look of civics and tegs..

well then that will leave you with a integra or a civic. you could motor swap the civic or just find you a 4 door gsr integra that would be nice

Two things...

1.) The 99-00 Si only comes in coupe form, no sedan available
2.) Honestly I don't know if you're going to be able to find a 99-00 Civic Si or a 99+ GS-R sedan for seven grand or less...

I am positive you could find an older car that might already be swapped out for less than $7,000. Or, if you didn't want an already swapped out car, why not go for a 92-95 Civic or a 94+ Integra?

92-95 Civic
94-95 Integra

Those are the easiest to mod and the most accessible for a cheap price. The Civic is easy to find for next to nothing, and the 5th gen Civic has the easiest engine bay to work in. It's the largest out of the 88-00 Civics. The 92-95 model years are all OBD1, so they're easy to wire up and easy to tune. Go earlier and you have older systems that aren't as tweakable, go newer and you have newer more locked down systems aren't as tweakable. Sure, you can convert to OBD1 (many many many people do), but why bother when you start with the right platform to begin with?

If you're going to mod a Honda, the 92-95 era is probably one of the best bangs for the buck if you're just starting out.

If you have cash to blow, get an S2000, build it up to 400whp or so, add on all your supporting mods, then go rape everyone at the road course.

:D

ok yea i know the si are only two door and i would like a 94 95 teg if i could find one lol.. but i am just gunna have to keep looking and gettin input till i get one.. thanks tho you guys have been a big help:D

ok i know i will prolly sound ditzy lol but i have a question.. when i go to get a car which i am pretty sure im guna try and get a teg or civic coupe but anyways is it better to get em as close to stock as i can get or what? i dont wanna get someone elses problems.. i think i know the answer to this but i am just making sure.

yes as close to stock as possible,,but even stock cars you have to worry about...your best bet///fnd one from an elderly person
