Who else loved it? I didn't see a thread. Saw it fri at 12:00 am.

What did you think about it? I've heard nothing but GREAT reviews. If I have a chance, I may go see it this weekend.

It is grinding away as we speak....

I do plan to go see it in Imax here some time soon.

I thought it was good, but wasnt blown away by it. The 2 face story was too short and poorly insterted.

i saw it this is the first batman that wasent a kid movie this one is the way it should have been no kiddy crap. the batman could use some work but the joker was dead on. the joker made the movie

it was good, very busy movie - i liked the feel of 'batman begins' better but holy crap did heath ledger rock this film. it's too bad he wasn't able to see its premiere. the pencil bit was awesome and i lol'd as did the rest of the theater, but i was the most moved by the following joker line:

"this is what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object." it was just a great part of the movie. really summed up some stuff.

i was kinda bummed there wasn't much focus on christian bale in this one...i think 'batman begins' will be my favorite as far as he's concerned, but this movie was pretty much a showcase for heath.

i am not a maggie gyllenhaal fan, except for when she puts the mischevious flirt grin on. she has pretty eyes, but her hair was way too fukt and her face looks like an ape project gone wrong from the nose down. also, she was jigging her tits waaaaay too hard in that one scene where she's walking with dent. i liked katie holmes better.

yeah so uh, i tried not to spoil anything.

"I am going to make this pencil dissappear."

/snicker

Kick ass movie. That was my favorite line.

Why so serious?

When Heath Ledger comes walking out of the hospital dressed up, its the best.

#1 movie of the year. Blew Ironman out of the water which I still think is the #2 movie of the year.

I saw it at 12am and read a review right before that said Ledger's Joker made Jack Nicholson's Joker seem more like a creepy uncle. While Jack's performance was still great, I could not have described Ledger's rendition any better than that.

I plan to see this movie in theatres as many times as I can. The special effects, the acting and role casting (with the exception of the leading lady IMO), and overall energy that this film presents will be long remembered, and not easily surpassed.

It really is a shame that Ledger is no longer with us, the potential for future films would have been amazing. I was actually curious about who they were going to get to play Harley Quinn, his right hand chick, and how the chemistry between the two actors would have to be on film to match his role in Dark Knight.

I'm really trying not to fall into the whole overrating-the-role-because-he's-dead thing, but Heath really pulled off a fantastic Joker, and he really does steal the show.

My one non-spoiler gripe about the movie:

When the power goes out in the office building in Hong Kong, how in the world do a dozen henchmen instantly pull out Four-D-Cell Maglites like right out of their pockets? Are those things standard issue henchman inventory or something? :D

My one spoiler gripe, highlight below to read:

Didn't quite like the 'tapping the phone calls of the entire city is wrong but essential, so we're going to do it anyway' message that it pushed near the end, especially with the telecom scandal going on right now.

Really, that's the only thing I can find wrong with the whole movie, and it didn't technically have anything to do with the execution of the movie itself, anyway... It was that good. :)

I hate to jump on the bandwagon, but I too believe that Ledger's stellar performance as the Joker is what made the movie. The leading lady I wasn't too fond of, I mean, Maggie is hideous and I almost didn't even notice (highlight for spoiler)that she was blown to pieces. There wasn't much focus on Batman himself, and Two Face's plot was short-lived and only developing until that was over. I could hardly understand a single word Commissioner Gordon was saying, his pronunciation was terrible.

The whole theater started clapping and cheering during the whole "How about a magic trick" bit. He steals every scene and is so into character I completely forget it was Ledger himself, and I cracked up every time he flicked his tongue like a schizoid would. He really did make Jack Nicholson's rendition seem like a, well, clown. It's too bad he is no longer with us...

Movie of the year, no doubt.

Spoiler: I think they're just setting him up for the next movie... I don't think he's dead.

I took that as just the character's inflection, don't forget that the actor is British trying to do an American accent. :)

That's what's so great about the performance, I think. He's doing all these horrible things and you're doing this kind of macabre chuckle the whole time because of the way Heath pulls it off. Exactly how a character like the Joker should be.

Movie of the year, no doubt.

Like someone else said,

"Heath Ledger as the joker was like Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter. "

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn't tired and I had a 3 hr sleep session day before so I should have been. I had a buzz going into it, so it might have helped, but I really enjoyed the movie.

Movie of the year? I dunno. I didn't like the way batman was played.. kind of dry and boring compared to what he usually is. The two face thing.. it was done well enough. They should have named this one "Joker". Yeah yeah, everyone is saying it, but the joker was flippin awesome, star of the show. Without that character, the whole movie would have been nothing at all.
