Win the Day
Started on Thursday when I through my back out playing golf. I was having spasms into Saturday.

Saturday- Started Demo on the shed attached to my garage, the thing is dry rotted to hell and literally crumbles under my force ala the Incredible Hulk. Once removed I tear off the remaining siding. The planks underneath look reasonably dry rot free, but not completely. I tear it down to the frame.

The frame is okay, there is to superficial dry rot begining on one of the studs so I reinforce by nailing a pressure treated 2X4 against it and into the frame. Then the fun begins.

My little brother is set for college but has to go back to Pendleton. Neither his loser friends nor his loser parents want to make good on their promise to drive him back or help him out. Seeing the situation plainly I offer to drive him there in the morning, this is about 9 hrs round trip.

Once I returned I made good on a promise to take my cousins to dinner for dinner for helping plan our wedding, then I crashed

/weekend

when I go home tonight I have to mow the yard then finish residing the rear wall of the garage. My back feels no better then it did Saturday afternoon and my evenings through Wednesday are probably fucked.

getting old person pains and staying too busy for your own good...thats life for ya. the end results will all be worth it though, good luck with everything.

Wow, we're getting old. getting married and shit . Sheesh.
not getting old...just getting the old person pains. sorry, i cant make much more sense out of it than that. i just know when im hurting...i look like an old man trying to walk w/o his walker.

My weekend kicked ass.

I saw step-brothers, went to a sheesha bar in downtown DC, and rocked out at Projekt Revolution.

:)

MY weekend ended on friday at 4:30 pm CST ...

from that point until yesterday around 8, if i wasnt asleep at home, i was at work.
like 25 hours or some shit.

At least your dad didn't basically tell you that he doesn't trust you at all... like mine did Saturday.

Well its different on a personal level, but when your dad is your boss, it brings it in on two levels.

why would he tell you he doesn't trust you?
haven't you been working for him for years now?

what does he think you're cheating him on hours or something?

to the OP:
how was that long car ride for your back?
relaxing or just made it worse?

lol, damn. doesnt sound too bad except for throwing your back out.
if not for that you probably would have gotten more done on the garage and the ride may not have been so bad.

i had a good weekend though, stayed up to about 4 on fri and sat night buffing 1 subaru each night, while getting nice and drunk for the first time in a year.
then woke up at 7 on sat and sun and went to an all day car show. now im sitting in charlotte. tired as balls, but had a blast. sunburnt a little too :(

Meh, long stupid story. Molehill -> Mountain.

anywho, sorry to fuck up teh thread. Sorry to hear you had a shitty weekend, Silver.

not bad for a white collar kid

I tore it down to the frame, primed the frame, layed sheets of primered plywood, then roofing paper, then siding

I'll finish it up Wednesday when it stops raining

Ahh I gotcha.

That was smart of you priming the studs for weather protection.

The best thing you can do is probably wolmanize any cuts you make in pressure treated material and good flashing above the siding if there isn't a full 2" overlap or so.
