Hi I'm new to this forum thing. I don't know much about it, let alone how to use it.
I just want to know if a D15B7 motor will fit in a 1991 honda civic si (hb)?
I think my head gasket blew and I was given a motor, but I don't know if it'll fit.
I know it came out of a Civic ( about a '94) . I hope it does fit cause I'm tight on money before school starts.

Anything?

Well thanks for the response.
What I'm tryin' to do is go the cheapest route. With the least amount of work I should say. without havin' to put a new computer, drive axle,Etc.

What would I extra work would i have to perform to make this engine work?

So, no changing out the motor mounts? and everything will hook right up? I'll probly be doing all this on my own, so I'm tryin' to get as much info as I can.

Tight! I wish I could afford a VTEC but moneys tight right now. thanks for the advice. Just need my runner up and going for now. I've been driving a chevy truck that has been eating up my money at the pump.

Ok so no one has said this yet I thought that I would let you know. The d15b7 is a obd1 motor so if you want to use that you will have to get a conversion harness to go from obd-0 to obd-1 if you would like to stick with obd-0 then you would have to get a obd-0 dizzy out of a d16 that is from a obd-0 car.

he can use the intake manifold and distributor from his car.

if you've blown your head gasket, why not sell the D15 and replace your head gasket and timing belt? you will end up with a much better engine and learn more about working on engines that way.

helms manuals are availiable for download free or pick up even a chilton's manual for $20 it just involves some reading and carefully following instructions.

anyway good luck, and dont forget to have fun.

I would try to do all this on my own, but I'm on a cramped with time right now before school starts. I'm takin my family on vacation. Otherwise I am the type of person to try to dismantle and rebuild. Besides, the "SI" I have has a salvage title. So i don't want to dump money into it if I have to sale it one day, and nobodys interested because of the title.

hey i know someone thats got a D15A3 that he would sell ya bored 0.60 over forged pistons shaved head custom $800 cam, custom intake with a holley 500 bolted on, advanced timing adjustable gears, bigger valves and springs, header, moroso oil pan, it won the mini stock championship in 2006. i think he wants 3 G's, but its a rocket of a motor turnin about 11000 RPMs. wanna buy it?????

if you put the b7 in your hatch all you got to do is use your tranny, axles, and dizzy that sall you got to change is so easy whats wrong with your stock D16a6

^ blown head gasket...which are easy to replace..takes me about and hour to pull the head and replace the gasket, then put it back on

Important note: Set aside 4-6 hours if this is your first time changing a head gasket.
+/- one weekend, depending on how mechanically inclined you are.

In all seriousness, it's pretty straightforward. Get an accurate, quality torque wrench and a service manual (along with a standard socket set) and you should be golden.
