Great party trick, but it sounds like ass. Also, he is only picking one string at a time, so its not like he's actually doing any chords at that speed.

but..... why??????

I would rather be slow and sound great personally (I mean with a guitar, lol) than just have a bunch of speed. I just wanna hear him play normally.

Agreed. I could've done that shit like 3 years ago. Not hard. My dad's been playing for like 30 something years, ask him to do something amazing.

weird i wonder why its a world record if its not that fast i dont know much about them

It's fast, but not hard that hard to do. You just gotta get your hand to fret (I guess you would call it) coordination real good. The hard part is hit the strings just right in all the right places. Push to lightly and it just kinda thumps, push to hard and the sound lasts too long.

as a guitar player for 15 years, i'm impressed. i could never do that... at 170.... let alone 280

Yeah, that is most definitely impressive. That sounds like the "Flight of the Bumble Bee" arrangement by that opera dude. Googling...Nikolai.

Aleaf, you can't completely disregard the main factor that makes it impressive. That's just downright silly. It's like watching someone win a race and say "That's impressive, but not hard. I can drive a car, it's way easy. Just gotta put a hand on the wheel, a hand on the shifter and your feet on the pedals." Not trying to bash you, just pointing out what you're saying is extremely naive.

I guess I'm not really all that impressed because I've lived around that kind of thing my whole life. I'd hear that kind of stuff everyday. My dad isn't as fast as he used to be, but he's thorough and still pretty damn speedy. Sorry, but I'm not on the same level of "impressed" you are.

It's fine that you're not impressed, but the man set a world record for speed and you think it's easy cause of what he's playing, not how fast he plays it. Even if your old man is faster, it's still downright naive to say that guy just did something easy.

Sounds like some Napoleon Dynamite stuff. "World records? I set one of those with a bowstaff, god!"

I never said it was easy. I just said it wasn't that hard. Everyone seems to think that it's some impossible talent. It's not. With some practice and coordination, anyone can do it.

Hahaha, oh man. Makes me reminisce about well... every girl I've ever dated. Elusive little creatures, those things.

I had one post up there originally on it. Not really "taking away" from anything. Just posting my opinion.

I do enjoy this forum and majority of the people on it(including you), so I am most definitely not here to make enemies. It's just the internet and opinions fly, everyone is guilty.

Anyhow, I agree. Or disagree? One of those.
