89 crx si firewall swap?

hey i'd like to know if a firewall swap would work from a 98 teg into an 89 crx, trying to swap to RHD. its a project car, im bored, driving a skyline daily and got a free front clip. just wonderin if it can be done. thanks for the input

Swapping the front clip or just the firewall? It really all just depends on how good you are with a welder.

just the firewall, and im a good welder. but im wondering about the teg steering colum and rack, think it would be a big difference for the little crx? or would i be able to modify it.

My best guess is that you'll have to trim it a bit. I'm pretty sure the Integra is wider toward the top. You'd have to swap the whole steering assembly out, which may need a new way to mount it (I doubt the mounting bolts are the same), so you'll need a tap and die set or you'd have to weld it in.

I'm really not sure what you'd gain by this swap, though. You get to sit on the other side of the car while you drive, and it looks more ... jdm. Honestly, if you're asking whether or not it's possible, you probably don't have the knowledge or resolve to do it.

It's really not even worth my time to continue answering these inane questions (no offense). If you start swapping, I'd love to see some pictures but otherwise this is a silly discussion. Take some measurements, cut the firewalls out, and make it happen. It's as simple as that.

well im away for work for another week. im just off work for a bit and bored already frankly. and yes pretty much nothing is gained by this swap but i got a free front clip from a 98 teg and i have a crx sitting around. i've been driving my gtr for a while and know theres no difference between right and left hand. but i was just wondering if i could weld a support on for the rack to bolt onto. and yes i figured some triming would be involved. but i'll check it out in a week and decide. i was just lookin on some input on the size and if i could just weld on a support. but if i do start this project then i'll definetly make a topic about it. and thanks for you "insane" answers lol

rhd dash on lhd car? lol but im genna see if i can get by with just swapping the passenger side of the firewall. well atleast see if the steering colum rack and stuff will fit. if not then theres no point in even touching it

Honestly I dont think its worth messing with. RHD will just be a thief and cop magnet.

my gtr is the cop magnet and as for theifs. not so much on the 89 si if they find there way to my driveway lol
