whats u guys i have a b16 cable trans on a b18 block. i just put the motor and trans in my ef. my problem is when i pull the clutch arm up it pulls up real easy. and wont shift gears. like the bearing is not hitting the pressure plate. i pulled the trans and noticed the fins on the pp are flat i dont know if this means anything. what u guys think?

I dont think the pp is bad and i torqed each bolt to 20 ft lbs

Did you torque them all to 20ft-lbs all at the same time? If so, you are supposed to slowly torque each bolt in a crisscross pattern like two turns at a time until you get to 20ft-lb. Did you also go over each bolt to make sure they're at 20ft lbs also?

Is the clutch new? From my experience, when you torque down the pressure plate the "fingers" start to push out a little.

Also, +1 on checking the cable. There should be slack in there.

actually, when u torque the pressure plate, the finger suppose to push in.
maybe , u not getting the right throw out bearing???

the clutch is used but in good condition, also since its a b16 cable trans what throwout bearing would work? are all b series throwouts the same?
