for no better reason then Brock Lesner threads generate posts.

Who's gonna win?

I call Lesner mid second round, TKO stoppage

I think Lesnar has been the biggest bust next to Cro Cop. I got Lesnar winning VIA GnP first round...

dude what, if you think Lesner is a bust that's fine, but you can't put those sentenances together

Herring just beat Congo who was coming off a victory against Cro Cop. Most MMA analysts say if Herring wins he's going to be in line for a title shot. If Lesner can beat him in round one in his third fight everm how would he be a bust?

Oh my bad lol lol... I meant Herring... not Lesnar... lol oops

okay that makes more sense
Herring had Nog hurt in their fight and he wouldn't/couldn't finish him off... He lost to Jake O'Brien in a boring fight... Then he beats Congo but not in a convincing matter. Hell I think Mir would give Herring a lot of problems and Lesnar pretty much manhandled Mir until the illegal hits to the back of the head.

oh, I thought you mean Herring would win.

I would give Herring the striking advantage from a technique standpoint
I'd also give him the nod in submissions based on experience

But Lesner get's the power punching nod
the wrestling nod
the take down and takedown defense nod
and the chin nod

I don't think Herring can put our Lesner's lights, and I think that's really his best shot. Maybe he'll get a leg lock but I doubt Brock will allow himself to get in that position twice. Had he known when to stand back up against Mir he could have won that fight. I don't think he makes the same mistake twice.

When I said Lesnar, I meant Herring was the big bust lol...

The only way I see Herring knocking out Lesnar is if he catches Lesnar with a knee while Lesnar tries to shoot on him...

Herring is a fish. Morons overrate the guy. He's fat and out of shape, maybe if his ass got in fighting shape he might be a force in the octagon. Nog is awful now, absolutely awful. Regular Tim Sylvia's and we saw what happened to Tim against Fedor.

GSP will destroy Fitch. They're both some of my favorite fighters.

** SPOILER WARNING**

Herring got worked by Lesnar...

I had Fitch winning but GSP is a tough SOB...

Kongo looked good...

Kenny Florian and Roger Huerta put on a great fight...

Kongo's dominant win early in the card made Heath look strong (Heath recently beat Kongo).

I think the real problem for Herring was that his game plan is to trade, take down, then ground and pound.

Lesner has the same plan.

The only difference is Lesner is measurably stronger , faster (he runs a 4.75 40 @ 295lbs), and more adept at wrestling then Herring.

It would be easy to say Lesner should have pushed the pace and finished the fight. But I think Brock does more for his development by riding out a dominating decision and showing himself that he doesn't need to go for broke to win. Without having the experience factor on his side, Brock won the chess match against a strong, if not necessarily top tier, opponent.

Yeah, he won, in dominating fashion. I'll give him that. At the same time, he proved why he shouldn't be in the UFC. I saw a fight that should have ended in the first minute. Lesnar rocked him and should have finished it. The problem is his lack of skill. Instead we saw 14 minutes of lay n pray with some hammer fists. Sean Sherk would have been proud. On top of that, he needs to show some fucking class. Pointing and laughing at your opponent? What is he fucking 10 years old? Then the early celebration with +/- 10 seconds left. He's not in the WWE anymore and he needs to act like it. And he still has a giant dick tattoo on his chest.

Conversely, look at the respect that GSP and Fitch showed. The sport needs more people like them, and less Idiocracy-esque people like Lesnar.

that's funny because Couture Vs Silvia played out exactly the same way, should Randy quit MMA?

I think for forgetting Brock's guillotine attempt in round one, his numerous side control and mount positions, his devastating knees, and his complete domination of the fight (judges gave him round one 10-8) over someone with 30+ fights and a winning record.

I think Brock did show some area's where he needed to improve. While he was completely dominant in wrestling postures, Herring was able to escape Lesner's mount 2 or 3 times. Also, Lesner needs to work on his boxing a bit more. I would say the power was there (anytime you can knock a 250lb guy clear across the octagon I think you've got knockout power), but in the later rounds Lesner abandoned it and went exclusively for Wrestling and GnP. Brock should have also had a submission attempt in each round IMO, so he can work on that too.

But I go back to my first point, if that win shows Lesner doesn't belong in the UFC, then neither does Randy Couture because he fights the same way.

Lesnar disappointed me again. He should have finished after the first punch of the fight. He sent Herring ass over tea-kettle. I am waiting to hear the damage report today, I figure that Lesnar broke a few of Herring's ribs and fractured Herring's orbital bone.

The night played out just like I thought it should have and with the winners I had picked. Should have put money on the fights.

I thought Lesnar, K-Flo, and GSP would all win but I did expect more dominating fashions out of all of them.

I liked nothing more but to see Manvel get dropped like a sack of potatoes when he came out of the corner like a thug and had his hands down and went swinging, leaving his chin wide open. If you want to be some thug, fight on the street.

I think all three of a decisions are pretty dominant. Just because you don't finish doesn't mean you don't dominate. Did you see how frustrated Roger Huerta was, he couldn't even get started against K Flow, and Herring and Fintch just got beat down for 15 min straight with no answer.

Did you even watch the fights? Fitch had a great 2nd round, and put up a great fight against GSP. He was outclassed, sure. But he wasn't "beat down for 15 minutes." Herring was though :(

I'm going to have to disagree here. Round 3, Fitch was held up by the cage on at least three seperate occasions. I think every round, except for Round 2, Fitch was knocked out on his feet at least one time.

FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!

Lesnar + submission skills = domination of the entire HW division

I give him another year to hone his stand up and Fedor is gonna be shittin' bricks...

I guess news out of Vegas is that Herring will take 6 months off with a broken orbital bone... wanna guess how that happened?
