My CRX is no longer a 12 second car

Now that i have properly sized slicks its a mid 11 second car instead :) went to the track tonight with the new 23s, the weather was crap with thunder storms in the area the track got wet once and they dried it off, i started high on the tire pressure at 10 psi to see how they worked and only 5K launch rpm and 3 psi anti lag, ran a 11.84 right out the gate, next pass i lowered the tires to 9 left the rest alone and ran a 11.80 bogging a little, next pass lowered to 8 psi and upped rpm to 5500 and anti lag to 10 psi and pulled a 1.71 and ran a 11.71, still spinning pretty good and not shifting into 3rd the best. then it rained. i am pretty sure i can get down to 1.6** 60 fts and 11.5 to 11.6 passes. here is 1 video my wife took of me running my first pass and here is my best time slip before it rained.

dude kick ass! i was scared when i saw the thread title that you blew something up - glad that's not the case!

Wowzers!! Nice! Awesome reaction time, too.

I think we should officially hand you moderator status over "I want a sub 10 second honda and have $14 to spend how do I do eet" threads. You can kill dreams, it'll be fun.

I think my favorite thing about all of this is the fact that you have no stickers, no kits, no bullshit, just a nice looking crx.

You are my hero Justin. God its weird saying that. I almost feel bad owning a B series now.

lol Not bad at all. That CRX scoots. 7's in a 1/8 mile too? man i know some V8 guys down here you could shut up. Being all they do is talk like they own the track and a honda's inline 4 doesnt stand a chance. nice reaction time. ;)

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I will keep you updated if and when i better this time slip. I think if i lower the tire pressure a tad more i can get a 1.6 60 ft and perhaps a 11.6 :)

ey DOHC is wayyyyyyyy better den sohc

its true a b can make higher whp numbers easier then a d but do to the fact a d has a longer stroke then a b of the same displacement the d will make more torque at the same whp,and its torque that sits you back in the seat. for example a d that makes 300 whp might make 260 tq while a b thats making the same 300 might only be making 220 tq. so it comes down to this, whats the maxium whp you want to make? if your answer is 400 or less then a d motor is the best choice, if its 400+ then its easier to do it in a b . next issue is cost a d motor is often 1/4 the price of a b motor so for people on a small budget the d is also the better choice. dont get me wrong if and when i decide its time to make over 400 whp i will more then likely switch to the b but for now a d motor is the better choice. besides at my local tracks the fastest turbo b motors that show up to the street legal drags are on average 1 second slower then my little old d motor :) and i have allot of things left i can do to improve my set up still.

Very cool man!!
Back when you popped in my build thread and showed me your setup it pushed me over the 'edge' and now I'm bolting on a snail!
(starting with a small 14b right now, cause I'm at 10:1 comp and a boost newb)
I think the next motor I do will be a near-stock Z6 (rods and vitara's down low, stock up top cept for a cam). >$1000 beast machine!

Keep it up Justin!

Thats awesome man, and I agree with Dacheat, I thought you blew something lol.

I can only hope! Plus it's going to be 10:1 compression, so that'll help the bottom end like mad.
/thread jack

I look forward to seeing you in the mid/low 11's!!! :)
