dont kno, but if he lives in oregon..there is a bunch of shit going around about a mathew mcwilliams guy saying he can get parts for dirt cheap and doing exactly what you have explained..just some food for thought. and yes fuck dishonest paracites

I bought a turbo from matts96hb, and I got it. It took a while, but that's because he sent it 3rd class mail. The point is that I got it.

Have you tried talking to him about it? If you haven't gotten it, you should first talk to him. If that fails, call him on the phone.

Most people are honest.

That's great logic. Let's stop doing business with Germany because they started two wars. Better yet, let's stop buying oil from the middle east, because the've been ripping us off for oil.

Matt works like a madman and if anything, may have just honestly forgotten. I would try PM'ing him again before passing judgement. He is a very good guy.

I had a problem with a guy on here a while ago and it ended up being that the guys job called for him to travel a lot and it took him a while to get back to me. I did end up getting my part in the end and all was well.

i dunno, personally 'turning out fine' is me getting what i pay for in a timely fashion. don't say you have a part you want to sell if you aren't planning on closing the deal quickly. i don't care if he's a good guy or not, he seems to do poor business and should stop offering parts.

I'm going to have to agree. Don't offer to sell something unless it's sitting around somewhere in a box ready to be picked up or shipped out ASAP. I recently contacted some guy on a local forum about some rims he was offering up for sale (he had a post with pictures in the classified forums) and we talked about price, arranged a pick-up, all of that, and then at the end of the convo, he was like "well, guess I should start looking for some other rims to put on my car before the weekend rolls around, huh?"

So yeah, the dude was offering to sell his one and only set of wheels off of his daily-driven car. Predictably, he flaked on the sale.

I hate crap like that, it's just a waste of everyone's time...

It's not about just getting the product or item, it's about getting it in a timely matter. If I knew something would take long, I wouldn't have bought it. Someone tried to dick me over on shocks but I immediately filed a claim; got it roughly a week and a half later which should've only taken a day to get here. I still got it; but I would never buy ANYTHING from that guy again or recommended anyone to him.

Too bad I can't rep ya; seems like I have to spread some around.

Exactly. If you're not prepared to ship the item out within a day or so of someone saying "I'd like to buy that from you" then you really shouldn't be offering it up for sale...

Here's the deal. I work 70+ hours a week. Today is the first day I have had off in over 3 weeks. I get on periodically to check my thread and what not, and posted up a for sale thread. As Luis knows, I haven't had much time to get things boxed up and ready to go, however, Luis hasn't sent me money, so there is no real rush yet. But watkinscrx89 is a different story.

First off, he did send me a money order. The agreed amount was $30 for my used and in need of a rebuild 12b (clearly stated in the ad). He sent me a PM with his address and what not, and the turbo was shipped out THAT DAY. I dropped it off, and took off to work. A few days later I got a call from the postal office saying that supposedly there was oil leaking from the box and it could not be shipped. So, I went and picked it up. I found a new box, addressed it, and sent it off again. I did pay for the option of signature on delivery. For whatever reason (to be honest, I'm still not even sure why) it was returned to me, I'm guessing because the address was wrong, or something of the sort. Idk, whatever. That'd be twice that I have paid for the shipping now, because the first time I waited too long to ship it back out.

Then he starts sending me PM's calling me a "cocksucker" and things like that. Quite aggrivating when you are already trying to ship the fucking thing out. Bottom line is, I'm going to the post office in about 45 min. I'll ship it to the address he gave me, and if it doesn't make it again, I'll refund his money and bite the bullet on the $40+ I just lost in shipping.

Tracking no. will be posted in this thread and in PM to the buyer ASAP.

To watkinscrx89: I haven't replied your PM's lately because you simply aren't speaking in a mature manner that is going to get the conversation anywhere. I'll ship your turbo out (AGAIN) today, sorry for the wait. Hope it wasn't too much of an inconvenience. The communication hasn't been the greatest, I'm extremely busy. I'll throw in a braided steel feed line for ya.

TO CLARIFY FOR EVERYONE ELSE:
Yes, my car has been stolen before and I would not wish that feeling upon anyone. I'm not trying to fuck the kid over. I have been extremely busy with work and what not, so its been difficult to get shit done. I can't even work on my own car really. I get off work and its 6-7 pm and the post office is closed. So you see how this could happen.

Best of luck,

Matt Nichols

Sounds pretty legit to me...I'd give you the benefit of the doubt...

I bought a part from him, and I got it. He communicated well, and although it did take a while to get to me, it was exactly as described and when I asked him about it, he provided me with all the information I needed. Turned out the Post Office was like every other government establishment--Slow.

To the OP--I think it's kinda lame how you blow him up on the spot without finding out what's going on. Maybe next time you could approach it better.

I hate a thief

Matt all that sound cool.tryed to be nice at first and nothing happen.thats why i blow up then you didnt reply to the pm or so.what did you want me to do eat $30.00 just be on the up &up with me. We could have not have had all of this.id dont think i said "cocksucker".now i may have said "cock-haed-motherfucker"maybe i should'nt went that way and i'm sorry if that means anything to you. I just want things to be right.so i tell evryone who have posted on here thanks for your input and we'll see what happens on this deal

Seems like the problem was caused by the root of most problems... communication. On both halves. More than one means of communication should always be provided: 1. PM 2. E-mail 3. Phone number. Then, even when pushed, communicate with manners. Obviously running your mouth gets you no where. And lastly, PM a Mod first. If someone doesn't respond to a message from B or one of the others, it's pretty evident it's a scam.

That works much better than throwing accusations and now being like, "Oh, OK, never mind what I said in the first post."

I almost got scammed myself. A guy sent me a check of 3200.00 for 200.00 dollar lights. turned out the check was fake.So i didnt cash it. after i told the guy he suddenly disappeared, but my fault as well, should of told him no checks.

That's a classic scam.

The Overpayment Scam
A very popular scam is people responding to your "for sale" ad with a cashiers check for more than the asking price.
They always claim to be working for a client in a foreign country who offers almost your full asking price after a cursory look at some photos. They offer you a cashier's check for more than the actual amount and ask you to refund the difference. Of course they have this over-value cashiers check because the last deal fell through and it's all legitimate per their "company policy," so you're OK, right?
Wrong!
These checks are always forged, but you're excited to get it and your bank accepts it.
You give them your camera, car or boat and the overpayment in cash.
All is great, except that three weeks later your bank lets you know that the cashier's check was phony and that you are personally responsible to make good on the full amount of the check!
These scammers have telephone numbers and real (fake) street addresses, just that the phone numbers are mobile phones and the addresses aren't used for anything. These people are all over. I got a lot of these offers (and checks!) while selling my dad's car.
I've had people send me these phony cashiers checks. I knew they were phony, but had them send them anyway just to see what they look like. These people actually thought I was going give to them the keys to my car and wire them a legitimate refund for overpayment! Mine came in an envelope postmarked Minnesota. As Romanian scammers all know, all you have to do to get a real US postmark is put all your phony cashiers' checks for the day in one envelope, address it to the postmaster in the homey small American town of your choice, and include a note asking that he "place these items in the mail" for you with the local postmark. Even for a criminal operation? Sure; it's illegal for the postmaster to look in those letters, so of course he has no way of knowing it's all a crime.
When reporting these things to the authorities I also learned that it's not a crime until someone actually loses money; thus it's still legal at this point! Another tip-off is that these bone-heads can't speak English.
