Just changed timing belt and the car has a whining noise that is sychronized with the cars RPM, meaning as I accelerate the noise gets louder. I noticed after the job my power stearing fluid was low so i topped it up but the noise didnt go away. Anyone know what that noise is caused from and is it safe to drive.

Agreed on the timing belt being to tight. No big deal, sometimes it stretches a bit nd quiets up, but ideally you ned to pull the cover and loosen it a bit. I know some of the hondas have a 14mm bolt that can be accessed through the cover that if you loosen it will let the tensioner reset itself using the spring that sets tension on the belt.

on the tensioner, let it slid down a 1/2" to 1" to make a little more slack in the belt

yah same thing just installed P.S and the beslt for it is whineing alot, thought it was too tight , so i tightend it still doing it , any ideas/?

Oh, also check the tension on all of your other belts, as you had to remove/replace them while you had the timing belt off, could be coming from one of those, overtightened.

check the outer retaining ring on the crank gear, i had a whine when i changed head gaskets i noticed that it was rubbing because it was on backwards, you never know it might help. im still putting my motor back together hopefully ill be done today and ill let you know if it helped.

try to take off the power steering strap then start the car and if you don t hear the noise cause the pompe gonna seeze soon and you can try that with the a/c too
