We have 3 good sized tool boxes full of craftsman tools here in our shop at home.
The matco man that comes to the school will replace most if not all broken tools for free.
EBAY FTW! Maybe that sr20 swap will come sooner than i thought...

My dad has used Snap-on tools his whole life, dont get me wrong they are great tools, but they are super expensive. when I started to buy some stuff he told me go with Craftsmen, because just live phyregod said you break it, they replace it. Ive destroyed 2 3/8 drive ratchets and they have replaced them no problem. But the student discount on tools is amazing, if your OK with spending money on tools go for it, because Snap-on and Matco do have a great product line.

Besides the price difference, what's the advantage of one over the other? Well, let me elaborate:
If I was to break a ratchet that I bought from Sears (Craftsman), could I go back to Sears and get a new one right there, or do I have to send it out? And same with Matco/Snap-on. Do you have to send them out? I know when I was at Honda the Matco and Snap-on guy would come every week, and if something was broken he would bring a replacement either the next week or give you one if he had it on the truck. What happens when you get out of the dealership/shop scene?

My instructor said something about being able to mail them in. But idk about that. All of matco tools have warrenties so If an individual buys one that doesn't work at a shop they have to have a way to redeem the warrenty.
i'll sick with my craftsman toold TYVM. i've broken a shit ton of ratchets but hell free replacement is good enough for me. sears is only 20 minutes away.
As someone who uses craftsman tools every work day (I hate craftsman tools) their warranty is good because you WILL be using it with the shit products they have been putting out in the last few years. I have gone through shit tons of T handle allen wrenches, many ratchets, and a few screw drivers.
I like Husky wrenches and ratchets, I have never broken one. I can't speak for them as much since stanley bought them but I have had a set for almost 20 years. The only thing with them is you have to call a 1800# to get them replaced.
