Identifing LS crank

If I was to look at a crank how would I tell if its an actual LS crank?

I got a crank with a small flat ground on one throw, and on that flat the characters "B1" are etched in. What would that mean? I bought the brank with a B18A1 block, so Im assuming it doesnt simply mean its a B18B1 crank.

Can the machine shop tell me what the stroke is of the crank so I can know for sure its a LS crank??

yes you can, but first get the specs, (dealership, internet, haynes, etc)

Ok.. I needed to know cause I am fixing to go get a crank thats suppose to be a LS crank. Just wanted to know for sure it is.
