ok so i recently bought a 97 accord se and and it has a f22b2 non vtec motor i was wondering if it is possible to use the head off of a f22b1 vtec motor

Yes, it is possible. You'll also need the F22B1's ECU if you want the VTEC to work. You'll have to do a slight bit of wiring in order to make it functional as well, but nothing too complicated.

lol thx im actually trying to make my honda all naturally aspirated and i was wondering if u guys could give me some good tips
 
i actually attend an automotive college and im getting my my block bored out and my head done for a really cheap price from 1 of my teachers so im taking the opportunity to my advantage do u guys think its the smart thing to do

Well, there aren't a whole lot of after-market parts out there for the F-series unfortunately. They do make them, but they're very expensive. Check out F22 Parts or Bisimoto Engineering for all kinds of F22 parts. Like I said though, they're not cheap at all.

The F-series engines are actually pretty decent for boost in stock trim though, so a turbo setup might be something to consider...
 
yea i read in other forms and magazines that the f series is the best to turbo but would u say i would be better of doing a h22 swap and then make that all naturally aspirated.
 
Yes for natural aspiration a DOHC motor would be better.

And yes the F22 is great for boost.

If it were me, boost the F22 or swap to H22.

And on second thought if your wanting to bore out your F22 block, well you'd want to sleeve it if anything, for boost.

Yeah the H22 is probably a better N/A motor. How much power are you looking to make here?
 
All this time asking questions when you could be reading; and this is the basics of motor technology and isn't even specific to Honda. Take your time.
 
Your such a noob I want you to justify to me why you want to avoid turbo so bad.

...Unless you have like 8,000 AT THE BARE MINIMUM to make that kinda power...but at least that's doable with the H.

Haven't you heard or seen the JDM inspired slogan, "N/A is best!"???

Everyone goes turbo because that's the best thing to do with small displacement motors. Atleast the H22 is semi big for an inline four. And guess what....every Honda came from the factory naturally aspirated, so get over the crowd or path choosing thing to be popular in society. Do what's logicly best to suit the needs of your driving.

If it was me, drag racing I'd boost the hell out of the F. Auto-x, NA all day.
