Any ideas? Can only find 3 and 6. They are on pc, t-16, genesis, snes, ps2. i know 1 and 2 are coming to virtual console (wii) this month.

i think with such a wide variety of consoles its available for it may be as easy as ebay or craigslist. in all honesty i would bag the hunt for the old versions and snag the wii version.

I and II are for TurboDuo. They come as a single disc. Be prepared to drop at MINIMUM $70 for this.

Ys: Vanished Omens was released for Sega Master System. This will set you back only $15 or so.

EDIT: Ark of Naphistim was released for PS2. You can nab that at Gamestop for around $20.

thx, ys 1 and 2 just came out on wii virutal console which i have, and ys vanished omens is ys 1. i used to own ys 6: ark. gonna buy ys 1 and 2 on wii tonight, $8, can't beat that.

turns out romnation is supposed to have a ys 4 rom. besides ys 1, 2, 3, and 6 the rest are in Japanese only so that explains a lot. I don't read Japanese despite 1/2 a class in the subject and a little anime. I once bought Secret of Mana 2 (JPN-Seiken Densetsu 3) in Japanese and it was not fun not understanding the text.

Finding SD3 in english isn't too hard. There are efforts to put it on a cartridge with proper translation... ya just need to know where to look :)

Unfortunately such is the way for RPGs... a lot of the good ones don't make it across the ocean and that will often hack a storyline to pieces (Mana is a good example).

i got SD3 back in the day, right when it came out in japan. had to break the eject tabs off my snes to fit the super fam cartridge. would have had to wait for an english translation or rom. never officially released in US to this day i'm pretty sure. i still liked mana. i eagerly awaited so many translations only to be disappointed w/ stuff like arc the lad and fire emblem. some games aren't released for good reasons. now that i've bought and played ys 1 and 2 i'm not missing the non-US ys as much.

Mana is excellent, at least up until Dawn and Children. Sorry, when Square and Enix merged, the smaller projects (compared to Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest) suffered. Anywho, a LOT of excellent titles never made it to the States, and it hurt the storylines... there's nine hundred years of hole between Secret of Mana and Legend of Mana because they didn't release all the titles over here. There are tons like this and it sucks.

I'm gonna also take a wild guess and say you worship companies like Atlus, NIS and Working Designs (RIP) :D

wow you really followed the series. evermore was interesting. i didn't like anything except the first mana. and that was an amazing game but somehow playing w/ 3 real people never worked as well as 2 as far as moving in the same general direction. used to love enix since dragon warrior 1, then square after final fantasy 2 US. hated final fantasy 7, but 9 looks promising.
i can't even imagine the butchered stories w/ some of these rush translations. NIS-nippon ichi? never even heard of them. most of my rpg playing got left behind w/ 16 bit. Not really an Atlus or Working Designs fan, though I do appreciate Working Designs. Was more into Enix, Square, BoF (breath of fire), lufia was ok. Only rpg's i'm playing now are ff 1-3 on DS.
i learned a little japanese for the sake of playing some japanese rpgs but didn't follow through. after years of wanting ys 1 and 2 and almost buying a Duo/T-16 for it, its disappointing. Its 3/4 overhead and you run into enemies to attack them. Still a pretty good game though. Can't beat the $8 price.
