Yes!

So here I am in Bangalore India. I was sent here for work to meet the people from our office out here and train my guy out here.

The trip consisted of 22 hours of flight time. I left SFO airport at 1:00 a.m. early Sunday morning. I arrived in Hong Kong for my first lay over, around 6:00 a.m. Monday morning HK time. Damn date border, lost Sunday almost completely. :p So I had a few hours to walk around Hong Kong before flying to Singapore for my last layover. Finally arrive in Bangalore at 10:00 p.m. Monday night. It sounds like 2 days of travelling, I guess it almost was. I think it took me a total of 30 hours to get here. Luckily my wife gave me some killer sleeping pills. I slept for 10 hours of the 14 hour flight from SF to HK.

So I arrive in Bangalore, its pouring rain. I slip and fall on my ass walking out of the airport, score! Luckily my company has sent a driver to pick me up because I have no idea where the hell I'm going. Addresses are a little different here. They use land marks, and streets that are near the building to describe the address. It is completely confusing.

So now we begin our ride into the city. This is when I realize its a good idea I didn't rent a car and attempt to drive myself. So these guys here appear to have no rules on the road. You can drive on either side of the road and there aren't many traffic signals. If there are traffic signals, they are usually ignored. Every time a car passes another car, they honk. This ensues into a barrage of honking from all sorts of cars.

The people are extremely friendly here. Service at resturaunts is nothing like what you'll get in the states. They do EVERYTHING for you short of putting the fork in your mouth. When they open your bottle of beer, they first present it like it is a bottle of wine, ensureing you have the correct vintage of Kingfisher. :) Luckily these guys have been picking the resturants for me. They've been telling me of horror stories of Westerners eating at the wrong place and getting horrible food poisoning. Also, don't drink the water, treat it like Mexico.

So I'm here for a few more days, I head back Saturday morning flying through London. So yes, I fly completely around the world. India is 12.5 hours ahead of my regular PST time, so either direction you fly it takes the same amount of time. It is literally on the other side of the planet.

I'll be updating with more photos as I pull them off my camera. I got some good "incar" footage from my taxi ride, its quite amusing. I'm having trouble pulling those avi files off my camera and I have no way to compress them here.

Here is where I'm located

Stay tooned for pics...
