have 91 crx boosted b18 w/a stock b series cable trans from a jdm civic sir . on the high way doin 65-70 mph im at 4000-5000 rpms have to stay in the slow lane. great for the track but need as daily driver to. plese help new to the scene

Why do new posters always act like assholes for no reason just because a questions is asked? Either way, only knowing the RPM and speed isn't enough info, you might be in third gear or fifth gear for all we know.

sounds like you have a jdm b16 trans... they are geared low and they suck for the highway. if you can find someone that knows how to work on your tranny get them to put a LS 5th gear in it. other than that you could just sell it and get a GSR tranny

got a 91 crx with a boosted b18 and a jdm b series trans from a civic sir. on the high way doin 65-70 mph rpms are 4000 or more . need this car a daily driver always have to stay in slow lane. great for the track though! what can i do about this. please help new to the scene.

just like mdpsEG said...I have a b16 sir2, does the same thing, 65-70? Here is an idea...take it down to 55-60 for normal driving that will take ya back to 3-3500, unless you do tranny work, or get a diff. tranny you'll have to give up something, I have been getting 25 mpg these first few weeks but I have basically been driving like you 65-70 if not more, and getting there quite fast so...while your driving around normally, don't drive like your at the track and that will save you some $$$

Or, just swap out an LS 5th gear. There are a gajillion articles and threads about it all over the retardnet...

Yep my tranny is the same, b16 cable. Your 2 options are there. Here is a third, get used to it. i dont mind the highs all the time, you dont need to downshift to pass cause your closer to the powerband.
