Ya I just heard about this on the radio not too long ago. How messed up would that be? What did Katrina fail to do? You wanna see it under water for good or something?
new orleans is just stupid. who builds a city below sea level, surrounded by water? its dumb, and deserves to be whiped off the map.

While I wouldn't care if New Orleans becomes Atlantis, there are plenty of hard working people in nearby Mississippi that don't deserve the same fate again. My sister did volunteer work down there with my grandmother and neither had anything bad to say about MS.
In fact, people in MS were saying how embarrassed they were about New Orleans not only expecting, but demanding a handout after this. My sister said more often then not, the people in MS would actually refuse their help. Not because they couldn't use it, but the line most often used was, "Their are people around here that are dealing with far worse than me/us."

When Iowa got hit by floods, no one cared. New Orleans had roving street gangs shooting at helicopters and rescue authorities. I'm with B in heart, but honestly all they'll do is rebuild it AGAIN and lumber around the country will cost $50 for a fuckin 2x4.
That's the REAL issue with my complaint of that shit pit haitian run french lawed asshole of the planet area - Their stupidity and flat-out gangsta monkey response drove the price of wood and building supplies through the fucking roof.

But I totaly agree with you B, get rid of the damn place, the only good thing that ever can out of New Orleans is Mardi Gras, cant we just have it somewhere else?

Storm surge happens. floods happen.
but when you're above sea level, after its over, it retreats naturally.
If your sole means for survival is a levee and a pump, you probably shouldn't be living there.
While the people there aren't my favorite, I'm sure, I really don't even care who lives there. If it was million dollar mansions, i'd be saying the same thing.

If these people are dumb enough to live there in the first place, get hit with one major storm, go back and try to rebuild, then hear of another one coming and still want to stay, IMO they deserve to die. Its some higher power telling you to GTFO, Im with you on this one B, I just dont get how dumb you have to be to settle in a place like this.

The reason New Orleans became a city was intially a good one. It did not start below sea level. That came with the development of the area. When the Mississippi would flood it would deposit silt in the area that is now New Orleans. That made it great for the initial settlers, fertile soil for agriculture. Now with the leveys and flood controll the floods no longer occur, so the ground being as swampy as it is compacts and there is no more silt to replenish it.
Anyway I'm all for the big one hitting them again. Any area (washington dc take note) that could re-elect a politician under investigation for corruption and had something like 90grand in cash in his freezer is populated by people who don't meet the minimum criteria to be concidered alive. Those fucks have no brains.

New Orleans has always been a place of sludge and social downfall. The whole area practices french Napoleonic law, is openly Voodoo / Haitian and crime is out of hand. They have a celebration yearly to commend items and activities that other cultured societies frown on. The entire area is for shit.
