Ok to end a little bet i have with a friend who claims a 1.6 cant get 200+ crank HP without either turbo or stage 3 cams. I know i need to dyno and im not claiming anything yet so dont get me wrong. Skunk2 claims with a "custom header", sk2 exhaust, short ram and stage 1 cams you can get 190 HP from the stock 160-165.

My setup will be (next year when i have bought everything):

JDM B16a SiR2
-chipped P30
-custom header with 2.5" pipe and HKS muffler
-short ram intake (going cold air soon)
-adj FPR
-sk2 intake manifold
-stage 1 sk2 cams with adj cam gears

With a mild tune.

Do you think its possible to achieve 200 crank hp or more with this setup. I know that the tune matters alot and such but as a rough estimate? i will obviously have to find out next year but you guys im sure have seen many setups and figures. To be honest my goal is 200+ crank HP, and ill be happy. Any input would be appriciated, just dont flame, this is only an estimate. Just wanna know what im getting into. If anyone sees a problem or a better way or anything else id need (fuel or TB or whatever) to get this power?

Thanks.

im gonna guess around 150-170 tops. it takes alot to get a all motor b16 to the 200hp mark and it takes even more to get the torque over 130. but this is whp and torque im talking

Sounds about like what I have (every bolt on) except I have hondata. But I did'nt have my cams in. Mine dynoed 155 whp.

I dont want whp figures tho, and damn that was quick.

Also adding 8.8 or 10mm spark wires to the setup ( i know it wont do much but every little bit helps).

I have read (on here) that a 200 WHP N/A B16A is hard without stage 3 cams, headwork, compression and mass bolt ons and tuning. Its not the WHP im after althought it would be nice, 200+ crank is good enough for me..... and my budget.

i think with a intake manifold and maybe a new throttle body you will be there just get a good tune

K that makes sence, i just added on to the SK2 figure they gave. An intake mani could add 5-12 from what ive heard (depending on setup) on a high output 4cyl, im thinking that a b16a is a "high output" 4cyl, since its higher hp than any 1.6 non turbo ive seen.

200hp @ crank = about 170whp. That's easy all motor on a B16- just don't expect to get there without changing out your pistons or going with really aggressive cams and a really aggressive tune. Most B16s dyno about 140whp stock, so you're trying to gain 30whp without going inside. Good luck.

I built a b16. 13.1 compression, eagle rods, buddy club springs, blox retainers, supertech valves and some custom crower cams. A RAGE header and type r intake manifold and throttle body. I dyno'd 197 hp at the wheels on race gas! So good luck!

Well if a B18C5 can make almost 200hp, whats so different from what ill be adding, minus the compression i suppose.
