Today I went shopping and picked up

I'm getting ready to do ceramic tile in the kitchen and laminate wood floors for the dining/family room. All I can think about anymore is buying shit for this house.

Because its cool.duh!

It's for newer highend houses that have everything controlled by a remote, you can buy high end TV removes that control everything from the garage door, house lighting (dimmers, light shows, on/off) to stupid things like turning your oven on or changing fridge settings.

My lease is up in 1 month, right now I'm gutting a house I just picked up and redoing it.

new flooring throughout the whole house, carpet in the bedrooms, hardwood everywhere else, new counter tops, removing a wall, new fridge, oven, microwave, sink, fixtures. that's all step one, trying to get it down in 1-2 weeks total.

2nd faze would be bathrooms. sigh... so much work so little time.

will post up pictures later.

why do you need a remote for your tv? because people are lazy. just like. if you have a remote for your cd player in your car. your sitting no more than 2 feet away from it. but yet you'll still use that remote. why. because now you dont have to bend forwards and hold your hand there and do whatever with it. you just click click click with your hand where ever you like it.

people are lazy. and remotes are nice. its like peanut butter and jelly. just meant to be.
 
But... the fridge won't bring you a beer. I mean, lighting, garage door, TV, all that stuff is handy, but the fridge? Does it have one button in the middle that says "Keep food cold"?

This should be a national quote for those that sell remotes... I was sold after reading this on why I NEED a remote now for everything...

I use my remote only for the volume in my car, because the volume knob also messes with the settings for the bass/mid/treble. It gets really annoying when you accidently turn it off the 'rock' setting to the 'jazz' setting. Suddenly there's pretty much no bass.
 
I can imagine it would control the temperature inside the fridge, but really for what point?

I have no clue. still haven't opened it up. its just sitting their waiting for me to finish the kitchen.
 
talking with a friend of mine who works in the high end A&V field, he said that newer higher end fridges will connect with your network and if you have any issues can upload data directly to "insert company here" and they can know before coming out whats wrong with it.

maybe thats what its for?
