meh.... maybe it will get better when a real version comes out

so far.. not impressed

Heh, got it installed. Front page has the 6 most visited websites. Mine will be porn, porn, porn, porn, porn, hondaswap.

On the other hand, thus far, It isn't very customizable.. I know this is the brand new baby version, but its super duper incredibly basic. And personal bench testing shows that it does not play well with IE. Outright shuts IE down on a same file download. (Read: Watching the same video refreshed both at the same time, chrome pops up happy, IE flops up a "ZOMGWTF" message.

Unless they make a mac-compatiable one i cant use it. I enjoy my Safari tho, gotta love macs.

I downloaded it. So far I'm pretty happy with it. It's nice and clean and simple. It seems to load pages slightly faster than FF loads them, but I'm not positive. Not much for customization, but I like the colors and layout, it just appeals to me I guess.

I am really not down with it starting a whole new process for each tab that I open up. I have 4 tabs open now and six processes running with a Mem Usage ranging from 15k to 21k. Not sure what the deal is with that.

I've been playing around with it for a while now, tested it on many different protocols and sites. I like it so far. The memory usage is real high for just 1 to 3 web pages, but if you leave your browser open for extended periods of time and visit more than just 3 sites, Chrome will really shine. I really like the built in task manager, showing that it only runs plug-ins for flash and things when explicitly needed. I'm also a fan of multi-threaded programs so I can take advantage on my multi-cpu machines.

All in all, I have to give this beta an A+. No major flaws, and a solid, well executed design, in my opinion. I will continue to use it.

Its being a little slow, but I'm sure its just collecting plug ins, etc.

I'm sure the next release will be a lot better but I like Firefox.

A new process means it isn't going to crash your entire browser when something screws up.. and when a slowdown occurs it is only in a single tab as apposed to the whole browser

Regadless of why they did it that way I do not like the idea of my browser locking onto that much RAM. I had 4 tabs open with 6 proccess running. People have a hard time with FF using up to much memory and it would appear that Chrome can pretty much blow FF out of the water in that regard. I didnt get to play with it to much though, that was my initial impression though. I plan on testing it a little more before I pass final judgment.

I agree with you completely, I just figured I would let you know why.

i have issues with FF where it locks my browser for seconds at a time and i hate that. chrome works great.
