can I use an electric speed sensor with a 91 crx Si tranny???

ok, so the car I have now is a 90 LX, it has been converted to a gsr cluster. had a B16 in it and the elec. speed sensor. after probably ruining my tranny getting the speedometer cable out of it (I haven't found the gear off it yet) I found I still cant make the 94 del sol sensor fit into the crx tranny.

so, I can probably re-wire in a crx guage cluster but if I do that wont I need a chipped ECU?

I am beyond frustrated with this, I will be walking if I dont get it done by friday.

I have three hydro trannies, EX, sol Si and a CX, all useless, and I'll probably have to take the rex one apart to remove the piece that broke off in there

yes, you will just need a electric speedo to match with it

I have the electric speedo, but I cant make my (sending unit?) with the gear on it fit into my tranny. it will go part way but wont seat.

I'm failing to see why you'd think going back to the stock crx cluster would require you to get your ecu chipped...

And yes, the electric speed sensor will fit into the crx tranny.

I was under the impression that my ECU needs to read 10mph^ for my VTEC to work, I'm using a P28.

it fits now, I had to grind one side of the sensor to make it seat, and grind a little bit of the rear mount to clear the plug.

it wouldn't fit because on the hydro trans. around the speed sensor hole is sort of a flat open space, on the crx trans. there is no space because of the bolts for the rear mount.
