This has happened a few times to me, but ill be getting on the freeway on ramp or on the freeway, drop to about 60 mph in third, floor the throttle and it has happened twice frist when it hit 6k rpms its as tho you had let off the throttle all the way (which wasnt the case) and the second time at 6500 rpms and the third it was in 4th about 5700 rpms , each time it would do it it would drop about 500 rpms and then get back up and going again, it was wweird!! it as tho no fuel or something was getting to the engine. The entire time the throttle never left the floor. Any ideas of what to check? i mean the car runs and drives fine but this has happened about 4 times now... something i should be worried about or? sorry if it doesnt make the best of sense :(

any codes? ecu might be in limp mode?

Yeah the CEL is on.. was told it was my secondary o2 sensor.. but have gone 3 different places for 3 different readings by them.... wtfff???

did someone tell you that was the problem or does your ecu tell you this? if possible do u have another ecu that u could plug up to it. where did u go to get it "read"?

My buddy told me the O2, the obd readers all came back with something different, 3 different auto zones

ok go out and get a haynes or chiltons car repair manual for your car. look up how to flash the ecu and read codes offf of ur cel. that way you can be sure its an O2 sensor. autozone readings dont tell you exactly whats wrong.

Hey dude man. Yes they do. It's called OBD2. Read about it :)

An intermittent o2 sensor failure could be the culprit, but under wide open throttle the ECU ignores o2 sensor input. To me, sounds like a loose wire. Maybe wind and/or vibrations cause it to lose contact every once in a while. Because the ECU doesn't know what gear your in, and the motor doesn't do it other wise.

You could do a compression test, leak down test, spark plug wire resistance check, spark plug condition check, distributor cap and rotor condition check, etc. Get a haynes manual and do just about every drivetrain/ignition related test that doesn't involve spending money. Atleast that's how I would go about starting in on it.

could it be your fuel filter? Maybe its geting clogged and under hard exceleration it cuts out the fuel just a thought.

one of the read outs said something with the fuel, i couldnt make sense of what the lady was telling me... I got fuel out of it tho.

I've never used an OBD2 scanner or anything, but if they can tell you what code it was, write them down and then post 'em up.

Yes for sure, writting down what the scan tool tells you would help a ton!

The code should be PXXXX, like a P0171 (system too lean)

Any place that can do a scan on it. Ask them for a printout, or ask them to write down the codes for you. Free is good.

Free is good! But free means different read outs? I just want all the right read outs. Ill take it to another auto zone or checker whichever I see first i guess?

That will work. Even if you have to go to a few different places, write them all down anyway.

Make sure their also not jsut telling you one of many. They may jsut be looking at the first code displayed, if its anything like the obd2 scanner i have itll first tell you how many codes then display what they are with their code layout, if you know where the jumper is which is by your kick pannel you can also jump that jumper and red your cel light, long flashes =10, short =1, this is just as easy and you know you get allt he codes.

And you can post up any codes you get and we'll be happy to tell you what they are.

Now if your actually getting more codes one time than another, maybe you should consider checking for loose wires and what not.

This is why TEAM help is much better then individual, we think differently ^_^ Alright wonderful teammates to help me figure out my issue! I will get the readouts and report pronto this happens! Stand by! Mission starts now

After getting the readouts, I get a secondary o2 sensor, and a evap high message.

I bought the secondary o2 and got wire to manually run it, i just need the pins that plug into the ecu so i can solder those to the wire and plug them into my ecu.

As for the evap, I dont know whats causing it? Maybe a vacuum line or could it be the o2 causing it? not sure, but tomorrow me and my buddy are going to the junkyard to pull out 4 pins out of the ecu so we can use them to wire my o2. Check and see also if the full connector is there and just make a subharness with the connector for it!
