this z6 is in a STD ef .,,, p28 ..all obd 1 components, rywire jumper...

I did a search on this same topic, and none of them came to a solid conclusion. One guy that had the same problem said he had his TPS and MAP sensors switched. :g:Dont see how it would even idle.

Anyway, so I checked the CAT, not clogged. Swapped dizzys with a known good one. Reset the ECU to eliminate limp mode. Fuel pressure was checked and stays atleast 35+ psi. Triple checked continuity to all sensors and injectors. Good.

I am getting a CEL of code 4. (crank position sensor) Checked wires from the ecu to the dizzy. Good.
The only thing I still need to check is an unlikely clogged vtec valve, but Im thinking I would get a code for it. (not always, right)

The engine idles very good and revs good until about 3k. So as far as the belt having skipped is also out of the question. (it also was verifed)

Any ideas?

I see blanco was banned...:eek: WTF

**by the way, after 3k rpm it resembles a rev limiter..

The code 4 is what your problem is. Are you POSITIVE you got the wiring correct for the dizzy? Are you using an OEM or aftermarket dizzy? the after market dizzy's don't use oem wire colors so this could be where you problem is.

If you're using an after market dizzy, make sure the wires look like this...

obd-1 -> obd-0

Peach/Blue -> Orange/Blue
White/Blue -> White Blue
Yellow/Green -> Thick White
White -> Orange
Peach -> Thin White
Blue -> Blue/Green
Blue/Yellow -> Blue/Yellow

NOTE* On some after market dizzy's the 'peach' could be a tan or beige color.

And Blanco is just suspended. he'll be back soon.

word!sounds to me like a wire is off,and as far as blanco being suspended..i dont think he will be kind about coming back,just my .02

I tested continuity on all wires relating to the diz.Tested from the ecu to the diz plug. They all checked out good and in the right spot. I am using an obd1 diz, so I dont think your chart is going to help me because its obd1 to 0. Here is a print out I got from honda that should be helpful to others. I am going to try a 3rd diz, and see if it helps. In the meanwhile Im still open to any pointers.

It's supposed to be obd1 to obd0. You're using the ef harness right? which is obd0, so therefore the chart i posted is obd-1 distributor wire color to the obd0 harness color...

Anyone know why Blanco was suspended? Just curious...

And try this its at the very very bottom of the write-up. (The dizzy wire colors)

Alright...fixed. Turned out to be unshileded diz. wiring. Grounding out and causing a short. So shileding your diz wires is a very good idea when ever converting to MPFI.
