just have a simple question that im pretty sure you guys are tired of answerin but im new to this whole swap thing...i have a 1996 civic ex and a frien of mine is selling me a B16A2 engine swap the complete swap for $600. alot of pepole tell me this is a great deal and say i should buy it,but im not too sure if i should because ill like to knw whats needed for the swap (ecu, mounts and how to hook up the wiring)please help!!!!! tell me if i should take advantage of this or not, and how to get it done...thanx!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd buy it anyway. If you realize that you don't want it, or it requires too much work, then you can prolly sell it for a lot more than you bought it for.

somebody please help me with this swap... i bought the motor and everything and now i just need to drop it in,but i know ill have some wireing issues....please help

Oh God, here we go again.

You didn't bother doing any research, did you? You just bought a motor without knowing what needed to be done.

Shame on you.

Good luck.

A B-series engine into a Civic is one of the most common Honda swaps out there. There is information about this all over the Internet. Go into the reference section we have here and do some reading. If you actually take a few minutes to read up I'm sure you'll find the info you need...

Just because im at work and im bored ill take it, get the mounts from the kid, axles, and keep your stock wiring harness its perfect for it, get an obd2a- obd1 conversion harness, get a chipped p28 or a p30 ecu and go, his ecu wont work you have obd2a car an si is obd2b so unless you want to keep the retarded ass obd2 and convert to obd2b ide go with obd1. or buy it and sell the transmission for 600 the head for 450 and try to sell the block, but its a b16 so noone wants it, throw it away.

I'd buy the block for $20 and pay for shipping. Heh. I could use a bastard block to learn on...lol

Where at in indiana? I live in LaPorte, ill sell you my spare b16a and rotating assembly for 75$

Sweet dude I'm in Portage! I wanna check it out but I'm deffinatly interested. When might you be free? I could probably drive over whenever.

Nothins wrong wtih it, the only thing you need are pistons, the block is already honed by owens automotive here in laporte, its jsut my stand by block that ill never need, piston lands got raped by boost, but whole block was checked over by owens. ill be in laporte from friday to saturday this week, im in indy right now at school but go home every other weakend, ill post pics if i remember, i also got a 99 gsr p72 head for sale and other mis. stuff.

Right on. Well lets not jack this guy's thread. If you want to start a for sale thread thats up to you, but I can PM you my email if you want to just send me pics there. I'll be boosting my stock B16 soon so it would be nice to have this one standing by for me as well. A rebuild is planned for my current B16 at some point in the future too.

Well I'll see what days I'm busy later on this week. My job is somewhat random because I'm basicly on call, so I have to see how things develop.

I'll let you know though, for sure. Thanks man!

See thats what i need, an engine outside the car to work and learn on, and spare parts. I'm afraid to jump into mine because its my only car, daily driver and i have no money to fix it if i fuck something else. Little things ill do but nothing too internal, such as cams. Either my friend or Honda. Friend= cheaper but less reliable and experienced. Honda= expensive but experienced, also a warranty.
