the thing with the hoses coming out of it on my tranny. my new one doesn't have the spot for those.

That is your 'speed sensitive power steering' valve. It changes the amount of assist at changing speeds.

Ya it's a 'heater/cooler' system for the VSS. In the cold, warm coolant will help to bring the sensor's lube up to temp. In the hot, it helps keep it from overheating. Basicly same reasons why the IACV has coolant lines going to it.

that pic is of the old tranny. but there are lines coming out of my firewall that those hoses connected to. so should i just loop the two lines together?

umm im not aware of any lines coming out of the fire wall that go to the tranny

If I could see the pic I could help. I hate it when people use photobucket instead of just uploading the pic here.

if your talking about the heater core hoses those dont go to the tranny

Those two little lines are for the tranny cooler, they dont go into the firewall, they can just be looped and it will be fine.

OK, second time lol, they are not for the tranny cooler. They are to help with cooling the VSS ONLY, they have nothing to do with the tranny...

Nooo they are not for the tranny cooler!

There is no manual transmission cooler for F22/prelude transmissions. I know this from my friends personal experience.

They are just coolant lines. I would figure out how to splice them into your current cooling system; not to hard, coolant in one side, out the other. Then you know your not going to burn it up from extended driving and such.

On the same note, my friend just put caps on each hose barb and ran it with no issues.

I missed your first correcting post, my bad. Its not coolant that runs through those lines is it, its tranny fluid. I always thought it was a cooler.
