So, of course, being an older car, there are a few issues with it. First off, is what I was talking about in the "My New Car" thread. The steering.
Steering:
1. Any kind of warped pavement or bump causes the steering wheel to jerk violently to either side.
2. Even on smooth pavement my car often veers to the sides.

Start up:
1. Will sputter to a start
2. Revving the engine will get it going a bit better
3. No sign of dizzy failure/failing, possible fuel issue?

Like I said in the previous thread, it was sitting almost all summer. Any help would be welcome, thanks!!

I've got a vehicle (make & model NOT to be revealed) that is sputtering at start up, too.

In for the read!

is it the original gas from before it was parked.. that could be the start-up problem

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But I got a brand new tank in there the day I took it home. I'm probably going to switch out the fuel filter, changed the oil, and myabe get some gunk cleaner for the tank and shit. That's all I can think of right now though....

if those are 17s with 205/40 tires it will do that, just get some new wires and plugs for the sputtering

Good start. Run a bottle of gas dryer and a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through there. Check out your plugs and make sure they are clean/good shape/gapped properly. Inspect the wires as well. Check the throttle body and make sure there isn't a bunch of grease/gunk build up. Clean it up really well anyway with throttle body cleaner. Run a can of seafoam through the bastard too.

I always do these things with "new" cars, along with changing every fluid and flushing the brake system.. For some reason, people tend to believe that brake fluid is good forever and they never change it. I've seen some pretty horrible stuff come out of brake lines.

Hm. I believe they are 17's. I haven't measured them or checked but they look it. I hate them. I don't know how the chick that had it before me survived. But I'll get the tire size. This is such a pain in my ass. I'm taking it in this thursday like I said, so maybe they'll come up with something.

forget buying tires.. find a set of SI's w/ tires for the same price and have a normal wheel size for a CRX

Yeah, I was also going to replace the brake pads, bleed them, and replace the fluid. My previous rex's brakes were fucking ridiculous because the brake fluid cap was warped. It took at least 5-6 pumps for each brake to get all the air out. And by the time I had gotten down to TN, the brake fluid was completely gone. I know how to fuck with disc brakes, it's the drums that piss me off. All those little springs.....

well, tires for 17's are gonna run around $400.. you can find SI's or Blades w/ tires for that if not less.. LS meshes look good or CRXs too

^^ True story. I bagged a set of mad tyte jay dee em fat 5's (Identical to us fat 5's, but have honda caps) from hmotorsonline.com for like $500. Had two good tires, two shit tires.. Of course I replaced em all with BFG gforce sports a month later, but it was wheels and tires for $500. Not bad.

I'm telling you, find a kid with an SI and trade his ass. Or, you could drop by a few used wheel shops and see what they have to trade ya.

Local high school parking lot. You are bound to find someone who will think "bigger is better" and trade. And there is probably a good chance that they didn't pay for the rims or tires, so what do they care if they give away what mommy and daddy worked for?

IDK, I got tires for mine. 205/40 R16. They were only 55 a piece brand new.

Darting can be a alignment problem too, typically toe out.

I might have something that would interest you. fat fives off my EF civic si. I don't remember if they're 13 or 14, call me stupid, but I'd be willing to work something out with you. only issue is getting them to boise, frown...

I'll get some pics when I get home this weekend. the tires aren't much to look at, but that isn't too hard to fix
