You can build a motor for about the same price, probably less. Then you don't have to worry about what was/wasn't done right, or how the motor was treated once it got in the car. No sense in picking up someone else's headache when you can do it yourself.

Not to mention that the guy doesn't know a damn thing about grammar or spelling. If he isn't smart enough to write a decent sale article, I would question his ability to put a motor together.

hehe, I was thinking the same thing. Thanks for the input. :D

well i know some rednecks that couldn't pass first grade but can build some mean engines ha.. but yeah i would trust building an engine myself for about the same price over taking somebody elses word on what has/hasn't been done to an engine.. because you never really know..

Now this is funny. The auction ended yesterday, didn't sell, and he had updated the ad with the comment that he wouldn't relist it 1 hour prior to the end of the auction. Despite that he relisted it today and it sold for MORE money. The original ask was $1200 and in the new auction today he asked for $1500 and it ended early with a Buy It Now... something smells fishy here. Anyway, I had my doubts about that motor, and I'm more interested in a B anyway. Thanks again for the comments on this, always interesting to see what others think of these auctions.

There are some other questionable things listed in that ad as well. The crank for example. I don't see any reason that they would have needed to polish it. Polishing or knife-edging the crankshaft on anything but a purpose-built race motor is dumb...
