what about this????

I currently have a stock internals lsvtec in a 2000 honda civic si. I am very happy with it and I beat it and it is reliable. like I said it is complete stock no changes no tune it ran a 14.5 consistantly. I want to go with high compression pistons 12.5:1 some apr head studs and rod bolts. I am gonna put gsr cams and I already have a aem short ram and a full exhaust system. For added power I want to add a 100 shot of nitrous racing slicks upgraded driveshafts and a four puck clutch. Is this a good plan or am I asking disaster? Looking for good quarter mile car and it will have a very aggressive tune...opinions needed. I don't want supercharger or a turbo this way or stay all motor those are my choises did I get a good plan or should I go a different way. Can't go turbo or supercharger cuz this is my DD but I want some nitrous for just the track...help thank you

I had a bad experience with a turbo and I hate superchargers and have used nitrous many times and have really good luck with it but I haven't ever changed internals and was wondering if this is do able or is the configuration no good. I want the racing slicks for traction cuz I race the quarter mile as for stage 2 cams I don't want to upgrade the valve train i have b16 cams now and am looking to upgrade the cams but not replace the valve springs or retainers i was told go gsr cams is there any other options.

I'm assuming you already have headers on your car???? Well you may want to change your fuel system by getting a Fuel Rail, Injectors, Walbro Fuel Pump and a Fuel Regulator with the guage. As for cams you might stay with the stock cams if you do not want to change your valve springs, the GSR cams is not going to do anything enough for you, you just wasting time and money there. Staying all motor then get a Lighter Flywheel as well and do a port and polish on the head.
Well good luck....

finish upgrading your transmission with a LSD, and a rebuild with new synchros.
extra power and racing are hell on your tranny, and honda tranny's are notoriously weak.

idk why you dont want to upgrade your valvetrain but it never hurts, also to get the most out of your build with a stock LS bottom end, you will need to make it able to handle the high RPM range where the B16 head thrives.

my best advice to you would be to try and discuss these things with people that aren't out to make you spend your money in their shop.

If you dont wanna upgrade your valve train, then dont even waste your money on the 12.5:1 pistons. Just throw some ARP hardware in, keep you intake and exhaust, and tune that bitch. Theres no point in builin up the bottom end if your just gunna choke it off with the head. IMO.
