listening to the Pulse tour disks right now in class. It is my favorite Pink Floyd album (saw it live in Madison). Its amazing how many of my students don't/didn't know who Pink Floyd is/was until another brick in the wall comes on and then the lights go on.

go put on some 50 cent.... christ.
It's funny how a lot of you guys say 'who?' when someone post something on a hip hop and/or r&b figure and it's ok, but you get offended when someone says 'who?' about a figure of your taste in music/entertainment...

I'm tired of 50 cent for now. I'm listening to Biggie and Bone Thugz & Harmony right now :D

That's because R&B/rappers these days are a dime a dozen andget popular then fall off the face of the earth so fast you really can't keep up with the changes plus most late day R&B/hip hop is crap. I stopped following that scene for the most part with the loss of Biggie, Tupac, and pre sellout/individual Outkast. It is a rare occasion that you find a band that stays intact for multiple years let alone decades as Pink Floyd, The Stones, Eagles, Steve Miller Band, Matallica, etc have.

Rarely can I put a cd in and listen to it beginning to end like I can with most of the bands above. I don't know I guess they just don't make them like they used to.

So because the current sorry ass Hip Hop that's being put out right now makes Hip Hop as a whole crap? Love the logic. Let's all stop liking Hondas because most of the new Hondas are garbage, right?

D12 was together for YEARS. Eminem doesn't put out 'crap' yet when Proof got killed everyone said 'who?' and 'he deserved it'... Just because I don't like most of the music you guys listen to i never disrespect your taste nor talk down about that type of music.

And for the record, I like a few Pink Floyd songs... i just didn't know the names of the people in the band, not like I cared either though

i also listen to a little bit of U2 and The Eagles :shrug2:

Ok first off reading owns you as I suggest that you re-read my reply to your post again maybe out loud to your self if it helps - it does to me some time. It also says who the man was in the article headline B posted.

I never said that all of hip hop was crap I said that most of the current R&B/hip hop out there is crap. I stopped reallying listening to the whole Rap and Hip Hop genre about the time Master P started to influence everthing around and help push the idea that any artist that can put a rhyme together should be a "rapper" into mainstream music.

I do ocassionally still follow some of the what I consider to be pure hip hop acts (these aren't the only ones) like Atmosphere and Swollen Members to name a couple.

Secondly while D12 was formed in 96 it really wasn't mainstream music until 2001 when they released their first album. Actually all in all they have only released 2 albums and 2 mix tapes between 2001 and 2008. I would hardly blame anybody for not knowing an individual in a group that was barely mainstream and released a limited number of albums/tapes especially in a genre that is flooded at the current time and the recent past for that matter.

I know he posted a link that said who the guy was. My reply was simply a joke because when ever someone post up a hip hop figure people always say 'who?'

Just because they weren't mainstream for a long time doesn't mean people should disrespect them by saying their music is/was crap and that when Proof got shot saying he deserved it. I wasn't directing that you were the one disrespecting, that was towards all the people who have disrespected the hip hop deceased by saying simply because they were hip hop is the cause of their passing.

Now i'm off to work to go clean up other people's crap :(
