yeah thats the way to go because the type r and gsr in japan both say b18clook at the casting in the head, right above the exhaust ports.. if it says pr3 then its a type r head.. it it says p72, its a GSR
without ripping open the motor and checking everything its as close as he's gonna get to knowing.. unless he wants to take off teh exhaust manifold and look for the factory port job
what would i be looking for when i pull it off.i will be pullong it off soon to put the turbo on it.
im guessing more powerif its an itr motor why are you gonna put a turbo on it?

That's not a 100% way to identify them as the B16A also has PR3 stamps, but that's because the head is basically the same, which would also explain the years being different, the bare head was probably produced earlier than the car.
