Swapper for life!
Alright, just got the swap done today and drove it around. I found a very interesting sound, but it only happens when I push the clutch COMPLETELY to the floor. If I let up just a little, but not enough to start moving the car, this reciprocating whining noise goes away. Is it possible that since I have a new clutch in there it's just the break in period? Checked the fluid, topped it off with Honda MTF, still doing it. Everything still functions well (except my shift linkage because of the homemade bushings), it's just an annoying noise. Throwout bearing, PP, disc, and flywheel are all new.

i had the same problem in my nissan 240sx, but it was only in rev. i replaced my throw out bearing with one i bought directly from nissan and it went away. thats what u could be experiencing.

Sounds like it could be the throwout bearing. Buy a new one from honda.

Can you make a recording of it?

:werd:u might pay more going through honda, but like i said i had that prob. i kept going to my local auto store and gettin new throw out bearings. i must have dropped that tranny five times before i said screw it and dropped the money on an OEM.

oh joy. well, it's going to Colletti Motorsports tonight for them to check everything out and tune it. I can handle the noise for a little while, then when I can use a lift I'll get a new bearing thrown in there.

I see you're from the Dayton area. I go to UD, and live decently close to Colletti's. I had some tuning done there and have been happy. Good luck with your problem!

Either of you heard of Slowmotion? They are a very reputable tuner out of Columbus.

haha, yeah, I talked to Cory at Slowmotion. I was originally going to have him tune it (cause he does crome), but I'm here in Dayton now and it's just more convenient to go to Colletti. Plus they're a little less packed on the calendar. I called them this morning, and Steve Colletti said they'd probably start on it tomorrow, and have it done before the weekend. I'm just surprised he doesn't tune with crome. I might buy an S100 for him to tune with. Know anywhere I can get a cheap one?

I'd contact Rick Williams Free lance tuning services . He's a freelance guy that travels around to your dyno of choice. He tuned my car at Colletti;s this past May. He's one of the best in the region, and I know for a fact he will tune with crome.
