Just wondering how you guys keep your car from getting stolen.

I put on a clutch lock, steering wheel lock, a tire boot, and I have 2 kill switches. Alarm will be coming soon. Any recommendations on a good pager alarm?

No one wants my slushy. I barely ever lock it at home. I work in Jersey City and all it gets is locked.

just pull the ecu fuse when you lock her up they will never guess that one

Yeah I wish it was that easy, I live in near NYC and I hear stories all the time. So I can never be too sure. the only reason I want a alarm is for the tilt sensor, because they will tow your car,

I mean my part of town is good, but can never be to sure I guess

Get a cheap cell phone from Wal-Mart that has GPS tracking on it, pay for the monthly GPS fee, hide the phone really well and make sure it has constant power to it, if someone does tow it the GPS will take the cops right to it, someone else on this site was saying thats what they do.

avital model 4400 with tilt sensor.

Sounds like an ambulance when it goes off.

hmm never though of that, they do have this like personal low jack, where you can look up on the computer where your car is at any time. but its like 1grand =\

To tell you guys the truth, I never even imagined there were places where people weren't out to steal your things.

get a mirage and park it on the street. leave the doors unlocked. windows down. key in the ignition.

leave for a week, come home, get in your car and drive away.

ahhh, to not own a honda :)

Even all the work you have done to yours, no one will bother it?

never. not once.

the damn thing has been all over the east coast and mid country anyways. its highly recognizable. it even has my name on it.

Or you could own a Honda, and just use common sense. Killswitches are cheap and easy to do. Fuel pump, pull ecu fuse, decent alarm. that will eliminate about 65% of thieves right there. As for keeping it from going up on a flatbed, park in a garage, if no garage, park inbetween two vehicles or hell even between two trees in your front yard LMAO

AND, its not just Honda's that thefts happen to, I have a buddy with a mirage (chad) plexer09 from mirageforums and his car was broken intoa month ago in front of his house.. stole deck cds part of his system and someother shit.. found out it was a car ring and they were prollly attracted just cuz it appears modded

one mirage a year vs a million civics a month ... im honestly not worried about it.

i have an alarm and a kill switch regardless. i dont have a system.

and im ON mirageforums. hell im a mod, and #1 poster :)

Locked whenever i leave it, alarm (crappy one) and a fuel kill switch (when im gone for long periods). I wish i had the electrified door handles, GPS and pager........ but then again its not a Ferrari.

Leave doors unlocked - set alarm. Christ at this point it has been broken into three times and I could care less. I would rather have them take my stereo then break the window. I have insurance that covers the stuff inside.
