well it needs to be shorter than 30 inches cause thats the length of the one i got for a gsr. ive searched and all the alternator belts at parts stores listed for acura/honda are the same length..so im confused

Then get a shorter one. If the part number for the GSr is 310k4 or something, get a 280k4... you get the idea.

lol i cant just ask for a belt no. they wont know what im talking about
Where are you getting your belt because if they can't get you the part number you need they are dumb as fuck... you got a 310k4, say 'this is too long, can you get me a smaller belt?' Which would be 305k4, 300k4, 295k4, ect... as the number drops, so does the size of the belt.

i understand that part....just im searching autozone and advance online and i dont see that part number listed at all. i dunno i guess ill find out if they have it today on my lunch break

Theyre web sites blow. Much better to go in and ask in person. When you tell em what size you want, if they ask what car its for dont bother tellin em. Just repeat the size you want, and if they say they need to know what model car its for just turn around and walk out.

yeah go in and ask. The websites are stupid. Sometimes they use the part number that the manifacturer calls it and not what autozone has it listed as lol.

Just go into advance or autozone or wherever, and ask for a 290k4 belt. im using it currently with my ctr pulley, and yes this is me clarifying for you and everyone else;)

Read this. I myself went from believing it would blow up my engine, to being able to understand why this does not make sense. Just look at the cars and engines in question that had the catastrophic failures.

I personally have only had it for a few months and so far i havent had anything bad happen.

This guy from HT however has had it on for quite a bit longer.. as well as countless others with n/a and boosted b-series engines that have not had any problems.

You'd have to look into engine dynamics to understand what exactly is going on. It pretty much has to do with torsional vibration caused by the power stroke, and there's more flex as the stroke is larger(a good comparison is the D15(84.5mm stroke) vs. D16s(90mm), in which the D15s don't have the rubber ring, and why the 77mm-stroke B16B has this pulley and not the 87.2mm ITR engine,). The failures you hear about were caused by oil pump failures; which have an internal gear(Gerotor) that are directly driven by the crankshaft. A lot of vibration can break metal parts(read up on metallurgy/material fatigue). In some instances, the metal is able to stand up to the abuse so you do not see any failure.

You have people that successfully run the damper-less pulleys, and some with not so bad luck. It's a risk you'll have to take. You can throw it in there and have zero problems, or end up like a couple of the people with blown motors/spun bearings.

For the part number, yes Advance Auto or Autozone should be able to look up the part number. If they can't look it up on the computer, they can just go to the shelves and check.
