My dad is picking up a S2k down in Las Vegas (we're in Canada) and one of our requirements is daylight driving lights (low beams on all the time). Do American cars have that feature? The car is a 2002. http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/844532433.html

And we also talked to a guy at an auto store and he said the car should have a circut for the lights it just has to be activated. Is this B.S.? Thakns, Brad

Usually you can just manually turn the lights on...I think, I'm not positive since I always have to turn mine on manually since it's an older car.

I was maybe thinking of installing fog lights and putting them on an ignition source so they're on all the time, I think that would work.

Probably, would be fairly simple too. Any reason you're going all the way down there to get the car (posting is expired)?

Well the cheapest S2ks up here are $22,000 and this one is $12,000. With flight down, gas back up and ferry ride is under $13,000. It's a good deal for us.

Yes, they do.

It's a W5W bulb, just like a civic. Don't let someone add something extra to it, because it's already there.

If you want, I can take some pictures of my civic so you know exactly what to ask/look for.

But you're in Europe and I'm asking if a American 2002 S2000 will have dailight driving lights.

You're missing the point.

I was telling you YES it does. My dad's USDM 2003 civic has DRLs. You have to switch them on manually, but it's got them. My old 2002 Accord had them too, you just had to switch them on manually.

My friend's USDM 2004 s2000 has them. Guess what? Same thing applies here. You just have to switch them on manually.

Oh, ok. I get it but I don't think that will work in Canada. When you put the ignition to "on" the lights have to come on and stay on automatically until you turn the car off. When you switch it to the first notch that just puts the low beams on. So I guess I'll put fog lights in the bumper and hook them up to an ignition source. Like so:

I read somewhere EG6 fog lights will fit with a bit of butchering.

You Canadians and your funny regulations :p

So it will work? Which lights do I get? EG or EK?

EK, if thats the way you want to go. I'll do you one even better...check these out son!!!S2000 Forums -> Installing Honda Odyssey Fog Lamps in the S2000: How to and photos

ANd I dont think I was clear about the butchering part. Obviously your gonna have to trim out the faux brake duct vents for any of them to work, but the EK for light actually has to be shaved down a little on the back side for it to sit flush on the outside of the AP1 bumper. If you're not dead-nuts perfect with your trimming its gonna look like shit. I'd go with the Odessy Fogs from the link above instead. Looks more like factory:D

Come on DRL's arnt that bad. But ya are regulations are dumb but we boast some of the safest roads in the world, however my DRL are weird.

They are usually always one but they seem at almost full lighting rather than like half or whatever its supposed to be. Then sometimes they dont come on for a bit, i hear a click and then it comes on, if i jiggle my highbeams i can turn them off.... few seconds later they come back on? Sorry to steal focus but any help would be nice? :) :)

A couple of the s2ki guys are working on using 2000 rav 4 fogs except turned verticaly. They fit in the AP2 bumper good but they are made to shine horizontally. Swapping out the adjuster screw for a longer one is the idea but noone has attempted it yet. Im getting the odessey fogs as a x-mas gift.

My dads EF did that and we replaced the switchs that hold the light switches, signals and wipers. The whole switch cluster.

So its a done deal now. He's flying down on saturday, the guy is picking him up, sign here.. inital here.. ect. and driving back. About a 23 hour drive according to Google Earth.

Hey I'm not questioning Honda or anthing but I've seen cars for sale that have rebuilt motors, rear ends and transmissions and they aren't very old at all. Will he get 250,000-300,000 miles out of the car?
