Hot mess
Ive tryed doing my research, and Id like some info on using a block guard.
I know some block guards create hot spots, and posting I havent heard much feedback on.
A friend of mine who's build 3 or 4, 350+ bhp says to get a block guard or sleeve, cause you can never be to safe. He didnt have time to break them down. I understand sleeving just not a block guard.
Help?:(

just fyi i have a B18 out of a 91 integra

From what I have heard a block guard, installed right, is fairly reliable to 450hp-500hp. The motor I had was boosted to somewhere in that by the guy who built it. I never ran the motor but I was told it ran strong right up until it was pulled and I bought it. I haven't heard from it's new owner but I take that as he hasn't installed it yet, he sold it, or it's running fine. Higher than those numbers just sleeve it.

bump the thread up.

GTFO with these damn bumps.

To the OP, I wouldnt waste the money on a block gaurd. If you absoluetly need some extra block support, post it. The only problems that could come from posting would be if you over torqued the posts, or used the wrong material for the posts. In which case you would distort the bores. But, if your not tryin to make 400 horse then you dont need anything. Just freshen everything up and keep the horse power under 350 and youll be good.

i am no pro by any means but of the two honda turbos i have been around we didnt use a block guard on either one....one was making around 397 whp it cracked a piston in 3 places before it had any problems with the sleeves the other one is only around 250 hp but still no problems with the sleeves i have also heard honda sleeves are usually pretty strong
