Obama or McCain, who do you think took this one?

Personally I classify myself as an independent, and I voted for Kerry in 04', but McCain really did it for me in this one.

I know this sounds bad, but I've kinda given up on this whole debate and televised bullshit. Doesn't really seem to me that any candidate does anything they say anymore. Bleh. If I had to pick a "winner" I'd say McCain had the better debate..

"I was in nam!" "CHANGE!" I served our country!" "CHANGE!" "I was in 'nam!" "CHANGE"

Am I off by far?

yeah.. it was more like

"i have a track record, he's a n00b"
"I have ideas to help the lazy"
"i have a track record, he's a n00b"
"I have ideas to help the lazy"
"i have a track record, he's a n00b"
"I have ideas to help the lazy"
"i have a track record, he's a n00b"
"I have ideas to help the lazy"

fuck 'em both.

we're fuxcked.

nobody won that debate tonight. they both did say things that i agree with. but still are they reall gonna do ALL those things? NO! of course not. politicians say 123 and do abc

I thought Obama started strong, but then got knocked on his heels and never really recovered. McCain took over when he pointed out that Obama had requested $1,000,000 in earmarks for everyday he was in the Senate. Obama attempted to recover by pointing out that he's suspended earmarking, but McCain was ready for that as he pointed out Obama didn't suspend his own ear marking until he was already running for president.

Honestly if you're a Democrat you will think Obama won and if your GOP you will think McCain won because there's enough division on the issues in this debate for polarity. I feel McCain won because he got Obama to say "John's right" something like a dozen times and you just don't do that when you're debating someone.

The alarming thing about Obama is his far left socialism platform. He won't say that's what it is but look at how he bad mouth the concept of earning your own way in life

In Washington, they call this the Ownership Society, but what it really means is - you're on your own. Out of work? Tough luck. No health care? The market will fix it. Born into poverty? Pull yourself up by your own bootstraps - even if you don't have boots. You're on your own. Well it's time for them to own their failure. It's time for us to change America.
Senator Barack Obama - Democratic National Convention

This country was built on "pulling yourself up by your own boot straps". My father was born "without boots", he literally had to line the holes in his shoes with cardboard before his winter walks to school as a child. But he made his way, he pulled himself up, and that's what America is about. It's not about making those who achive in life give up more of what they've earned to make you way to the top easier, if you want it, earn it like they did!

:werd: to earning shit on your own.

Everyone keeps complaining about how bad things are.

Please.

Most of us have 2 cars. unheard of in the 30-80's.
most of us have 5+ pairs of shoes/sneakers/boots. unheard of in the 30s-80s
most of us have 20 pairs of jeans/khackis/whatever. unheard of in the 30s-80s.

i can go on and on and on.

we are still living stupid lavishly compared to our parents' generation.

Times are NOT bad. YOU are just lazy and used to living posh.

Good way to look at it.

If gas prices rise too far, I guess people will just be FORCED to start walking or riding their bikes like people did even in the 70's. Boo hoo.

interesting B. walter williams just had something about how much labor it took to buy x # of gas, groceries, etc. its gone down a lot.
mccain slammed obama on national security.

It's so true though.

When's the last time you re-used a pickel jar?

When's the last time you patched your pants instead of throwing them out?

When's the last time you re-soled your shoes?

we are NOT in hard times.
not even freaking close.

yeah man i totally agree with B on that, look at the starving children in africa and south america, or the people in iraq that dont have home anymore because of the war... wtf.

if ya think your having a bad day, do a reality check and you'll see that we have it way better without even having to do anything about it.. in those countries where its much harder to survive, and by harder i mean less convenient (some people actually have to hunt, kill, and butcher their meats before eating) people have to expend much more energy and time just to have a meal everyday..
whereas in the US, if you got a few bucks you can go to the grocery store and buy some food, with ease

I'd rather vote for the shit-caked hair stuck in the dingleberry in Phylis Dillers ass than either of these douchebags. I would have voted for McCain to help stop Obama, but he was for the bailout, so fuck him too, back to writing in Ron Paul.

hell yeah, we should start like.. a movement... 'honda lovers for ron paul' lol

im serious man..

im writing in

at this point, well...

this is the first time i'll ever be able to vote,

and i feel like i dont WANT to vote because of these two ass muchers.

but i will vote still, just not for those fuckers, im writing in dude

RON PAUL !!!

Did I miss the button for "Who really cares."? It realy doesnt matter who the president is, nothing is going to change. That and even if Obama does get elected he wont last long, he will get assainated, Im in no way racist and would actually love to see him elected, but that is just my belief on it.

i would too, but hes too focused on petty bullshit that mccain said in the debate which i think says more about him than he himself has said

I think obama probably fought a better debate, simply because the first question, Obama actually answered. McCain somehow ended up talking about Eisenhower.

:werd: The President isn't going to change shit, that'd be Congress.
